1) Why, with all the modern technology, haven't supermarkets found a way to wrap chicken without it 'bleeding' all over?
2) Why don't people go to the market knowing they are paying by check fill out the check at home except for cash amount?
3) Why do people waste time--and the people's time behind them--looking for the exact correct change?
(Okay I was at the market doing my weekly grocery shopping today--won't even ask why people with many items get in '10 items only' line and 'act' dumb.
4) Why are politicians so defensive?
5) What happened to 'please' and 'thank you'?
6) Does a religious fanatic get a 'bonus point' for trying to convert someone of another religion? Do they get a point taken away if they don't succeed?
7) Why aren't couples tested on their knowledge (or lack of) BEFORE they have children? (Let's not even get into having sex!)
8) Why hasn't a study (or has it?) been done, in countries that allow gay marriage, of how it is 'destroying' family values?
9) Why does everyone, including kids in kindergarten, have to win a prize?
10) Why do some people get annoyed when someone says, "Have a nice day"?

Here's your answers:
1. Not cost effective.
2. Not everyone thinks like you do.
3. Not everyone thinks like you do.
4. Because they have skeletons in their closet.
5. Day care and lack of multi-generational families.
6. No and no. It isn't points they are looking for.
7. Privacy Act.
8. BS
9. motivation.
10. Because they think the person is being sarcastic.

@WorDazza It's like Socialism. If you don't have to work hard (for a prize, a paycheck, or anything else worthwhile ), everyone expects to get the same thing.

@WorDazza ...I totally disagree. I think it does just the opposite. They have to do something to win the prize. Gives them motivation. Just like bonuses and such.

Cripes, you've got some questions here! Just picking on number 2 - do people still pay by checks in supermarkets in the US? I haven't seen that happen here in a decade - everyone used either cards or cash.
On the same sort of subject - why do women not have their money or card to hand, instead of having to root around for it in their handbags?

In either case why don't people have their card and/or cash ready? (That covers your question with a question!)

Maybe all these questions are pure human nature. We don't have any gadget or technology to fix it. After all, that's when you can say it's all real.

writing a check out ahead of time with your signature is not a good idea.
Many people other than politicians are defensive.
Other than that, have a nice day LOL

I always have a nice day.
That's like saying don't carry cash--why wouldn't you be as careful (or careless) with checks as you are with cash?
They are defensive because they are liars.

I would like to comment on the point number 9.
Now a days people are more concerned about status, prestige etc. This also has been extended to the kids. I believe they are under tremendous pressure to perform and to be the best. This is one reason. Life has become a rat race. Everybody wants to win. If you score even few marks less in an examination then you are treated as if you have committed a heinous crime. There is no room for failure. If somebody fails, instead of motivating that person is ridiculed. Each and every one wants to succees at any cost. That success includes money, wealth and other materialistic things. Hence over the course of time the good values are lost.

" as if you have committed a heinous crime" that's the parents fault--where did they learn that? As an 80 year old man I have had many failures in my life but here I am the happiest old man you will ever meet! I don't have money, wealth or many materialistic things but I do have friends and optimism!!

@GreatMartin Great and salute to you. But it is unfortunate that sometimes failure,. let it be even in an exam is treated as a crime. I am happy for you and your line of thinking :)

Care to give a few links?? Remember gay marriage hasn't been legal that long so a study wouldn't be much but I would like to read it.

I wonder about some of those things. except for making out the check ahead of time. if you lost it or your check book, someone could wipe you out. they should use a debit card

And I will ask you what I asked above--so you don't carry cash? If you did and lost it what would happen? Would you take less care of a check than cash? Penalties for overdrawing on a debit card are worse than with a credit card.

I am interested in number 6.My mum ,who passed away 20 odd days ago ,was a Christian .Her friends kept talking me into believing in Christianity, but I'm impervious to it .However I thought to myself that why they did all they could to get around me .

I don't mind someone trying once but more than that they are rude if I tell them I am not interested and I will tell them that if they get pushy!

Number 10, well , depending when they say it and how, could bother someone. Example a woman in the office walks in singing Good Morning every morning, she is overly happy. By the time she starts work the morning drama, problems are in full bloom, and people glare at her, no good morning..

Number 3 drives my husband mad.
But I have one for your list:
Why are fragile, breakable light bulbs packaged in flimsy, thin cardboard, and 99 cent, cheap toys (made of indestructible hard plastic ) are packaged in equally indestructible hard plastic?

I already like your husband!!
That's because kids can open the toys--not adults--and the kids cant' waste their time or have as much fun with the flimsy, thin cardboard.

#4 - Only bad politicians are defensive - the ones who know how the game works are always on the attack. #5 - They were killed off by our belief that we're entitled to everything. #8 - We're too busy generating opinions to have time for silly stuff like facts. #10 - Have a rotten day. No, that's not any better, is it?

I especially like number 9. I don't really understand because it doesn't give the kids any kind of motivation to strive to do better. My grandson received a trophy for playing baseball when he was young and all he did was play in the dirt with a stick. I love my grandson dearly but he isn't an athlete and should not have received a trophy.

The reason 8 hasn't been done (to my knowledge) is because they're afraid if they do such a study it will show there is no such 'destruction'. And the detractors wouldn't want that would they? What would they have to moan about then??
