How we ended up calling our rottie "little one"

We have an 8 month old rottie. He's name is Zeus but, the thing is, he doesn't know that.
See, his dad wanted to call him Zeus, though I personally don't like that name. But since it's my sister's baby and she decided to let her husband name him, I had been trying to convince my brother-in-law to change it by mentioning nicknames which he might like.
As Zeus was growing, we kept calling him by nicknames such as "negrito" (which means little black one), "peanut", and "bebote" (which means big baby). Until one day, my sister started calling him 'chiquitin', an informal term for "little one" in Castillan, 'cause he was the smallest back then and the youngest up until now. Before we knew it, he was no longer responding when we call him by his name--not even to whatever nicknames we had called him--except "Chiquitin".
Now, when people ask what is our rottie's name, we tell them that it's Zeus. But there are some people who would hear us calling him 'Chiquitin' and they'd be all like, "His name is Chiquitin?", with that awkward smile on their faces. And so, we had to explain like 'no, his name is Zeus but he only responds to his nickname which is Chiquitin because, since he's the youngest in the house, we kept calling him by that nickname... lalala'. That fact alone never fails to make people chuckle and put on that that's-so-cute face. Well, who wouldn't?

@sugartoes He's always been a cry baby even until now. lol Thanks for the advice.. we sure will. That's what we're afraid of cuz he's super duper friendly to everybody. And he doesn't know how to attack nor defend himself that even our chihuahua pins him down most of the time when they play or when he pisses our chihuahua off.

@sugartoes wow sugartoes!! I very much appreciate it ^______^ I'll watch it right after sending this comment. XD Well, our rottie only gets defensive like barking really deep when he hears something weird outside or shadows. But so far we only want to control that excitement when he meets new people. We dont want him to appear like those stereotype of rotties that humans made that gives a bad reputation to these wonderful dogs. We want him to be just calm but not so trusting though.
He's now 8 months old and he's gotten bigger but he still plays like a small pup with the chihuahua. Though, yes, we scold our chihuahua when he goes overboard.

I have a Rottweiler as well and the guy that had her before us named her "Girl". She was too old to change it when we got her so it was too late.
