More Public Domain Pics Available

The NYPL has just issued a massive volume of images that are now in the public domain. They want these to be used by writers and artists. At a glance it looks like a treasure torve indeed.

They will be hiring a few individuals for their "Remix Residency" - paid!
And they have a search tool to help us! Cool.

It is always interesting to find a new source of pictures, although what is in the public domain depends of the country where you are living, and it is funny to find among these pics some plates from French books which are not yet in the public domain in my country, like this decorative one.

@crazyhorseladycx Yes, they are legal and can be freely reprinted in USA, Canada and several other countries. Copyright was something easy before Internet, now it is a bit like quicksand, as you have to deal with many states laws

thanks fer the info, i reckon i might go'n take me a peek although i most always use my own. there's those times though when i jest can't rummage through my own 'n find what i'm lookin' fer :)

Wow, what a great pic! I'm sure they have a lot of wonderful things in the collection. I'll try to remember to check it out.
