Is Replying Comments Necessary?

I observe that many writers, in Mylot, are replying each comment they receive on their posts while some are reluctant to do so.To a certain extent, I feel it's necessary to reply the comments even though it's not feasible to reply always.
Especially, in Mylot, responsive writers get more response from the readers and their posts become highly interactive. There are fabulous and inspiring comments which attract the response of the writer as well as other readers.

I treat discussions here like an offline conversation.
If I start a conversation and someone answers me, then I answer them back. It would be rude not tod do so. In the same way, I find something to say as a comment to everyone who responds when I start a discusson. I feel it would be rude not to do so

@Bluedoll I never assume that everyone thinks like me. It woud probably a sad world if they did I just explained how I do things here but don0t mean that everyone else should do likewise

@mysdianait that'a great motto, but I find it hard to accomplisb on myLot. Also, it seems as though someone at some point will need to end the conversation.

I will comment back to everyone that comments back to me. /There are some that will only comment once and never comment again, whereas others will coninue to comment. That is interaction, keeping the conversations going. I don't feel that it is right for others to comment to me and I don't comment back. It is only common courttesy. It takes all of us working togehter to make maylot wht it is, and to keep the interaction moving.

@Bluedoll Yes, I am certainly seeing that too. I have some people that commented only once, and never made another comment. I don't know why, but they didn't. It is ashame too, as they are suppose to help others too, and they aren't doing it. I could never do that, as when someone comments back to me, I will comment back to them always.

I try to respond and return the favor to those who comment on my posts on here and Persona Paper, and of course I like to see what my friends/fellow writers are up to. It does take me a few days, or sometimes a week or so, to get back to people though.

It is not necessary to respond to everything. Just comment when you feel like it.

I think it's good to share our ideas, experiences, appreciations, and opinions through the comments.

It also depends on the topics, contents, and the inputs we receive from other readers.

It almost depends on 'what the discussion-starter's goal is.' I say "almost," because there's ALWAYS a reason you'll want to reply to responses (unless they take the discussion in a direction you don't want to go ).
For example: sometimes I start a discussion in the hopes of starting a debate. And the way we humans are with online debates, there's something about "having the last word"---giving the debater the feeling that the opponent has either "changed his mind (and is now in agreement with the debater)" or "been so proven-wrong that he can't think of any good argument."
(Even when the opponent tries to 'win' by declaring an "agree to disagree"-truce, there's something about 'having the last word' that makes ME declare 'I'm right whether you agree or not!' )

The matter is not winning an argument or agreeing with the other readers. I think the discussion allows the readers to share their views whether it is in line with the author's view or not. Commenting also provides the opportunity to know the opinions, views, and experiences of other readers. It is basically, a matter of sharing. .

I don't think interaction should be forced, but some people do that to increase their dollar count. But commenting varies between people. Some don't like to, some like to comment several times on one response only. That is why there are different kinds of posts and some are interesting, some are hot etc etc. I think variety is good. It helps to tell something or the other about the user.

You're right. Interaction cannot be forced. It also depends on the interest, mood, time, and evaluation of the readers.

True. As long as we have something to say. There are people who have so much to say on some subjects according to their perspectives. I've seen even in one of the online magazines, the flood of thoughts gushing on a post.

@vickyblogs it depends on the people that subscribes to you, their interest, and the current trends. From my observation, politics and religion are debatable subjects but not here in myLot, I don't know why. Maybe because those subject matters are tiring.

@vickyblogs,If you want to earn here, you must comment back on responses to your posts. When others respond to your post or comment back on your responses or comments, you earn from it.When you comment back on their responses or comments, they earn. It's a two way traffic.Interaction is essential.

When I post a discussion it because I want to "talk" about with other. It means I would do interaction with my responder if they leave a comment. It's a good way to gather friends and build relationship with other mylotter.
