Now see, just when I think we are in the clear, and life should let us finally get caught up…we get hit by a job loss. Hubby lost his out of nowhere, and he was so close to getting his paramedic certifications, and that is lost along with the job loss is. I have been freaking out all day. We are good for this month, I think….I do not know if we can make it through next month though, so please, we need some job vibes coming this way, or something. I feel sick for how we are going to survive, I feel sick as this totally changes my job outlook, I HAVE to keep working and working here, because we cannot lose this pay too. Which makes me feel trapped a bit, and guilty because I feel trapped. I feel sick for the year of hard work that was just flushed down the drain because of a computer glitch (we could prove that what they said was incorrect, and the whole thing was invalid, they pretty much said they could care less).
So…
Yeah.
I…don’t know what we are going to do.

I am so so sorry! I have been there with my husband losing his job months ago and it was horrible. I will be praying that your husband finds a job again soon.
I understand you freaking out completely, but just hope there is something better coming along.

I really hope this leads to something better, but right now can't see past the whole chance of losing our house and stuff.

I am so very sorry. A computer glitch is not a reason for someone to lose a job. How horrible.

I hope that he is able to draw unemployment benefits. That will help somewhat. Losing a job never comes at a good time. Big hugs to you.

Well, nothing you can do right now. Start looking for something tomorrow and keep your head up. Looking for a job is a full time job. Hope you find something soon and I will be sending you the strongest vibes I can. Good luck to you two.

OH dear I am so sorry to hear that Jess. I do hope something comes up soon for your husband that is terrible bad luck. I hope that if he gets a similar job they will take into account the training he has already completed. Good luck fingers crossed that it will not be for too long.

Oh my Lord, I am so sorry this has happened. I don't know what we would do if hubby lost his job and I think about it every time they find work to be slow and shut the plant down for a week. My husband has enough vacation days (6 weeks after working there almost 30 years) that it doesn't affect his pay. But if he were to be let go we would be devestated. We're living beyond our means as it is.
I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers and hope things get better. The businesses in this world are not being very kind to anyone.

thats why I wanted to pay off the debt and get things paid for, I wanted to trim things down and live well under the means...but we werent there yet, we werent anywhere near there yet. @.@. I was always afriad of something like this, but after 6 odd years, I didnt really think it would happen to either one of us. thanks for stopping and showing me some caring!

Definitely a sad news. But I am positive, he will get into something good sooner.
The scenario you are into is what my wife has been since 8+ years now (given the fact that I am now confined to home) which was only after 14 months of our marriage. Anyways, I will not get into that part for now.
Has your hubby completed the EMT-B training ? I am unsure about his qualifications etc, but I think he must have this certification which paves the way to the Paramedic Certification. So in case he has this, he may try to find a job at some of the health care centers or even places like hospitals that have ambulances. He will be occupied - may be not satisfied of this as a profession. But for now, it can help ease and balance. It is always frustrating to be jobless and in such a scenario as your hubby. So you have to act really strong and be caring too.
Sending out prayers and warm hugs

@Jessicalynnt It is sad that all this happened due to some glitch in the computers. He should try mentioning this to the people at the helm/authorities, but their realizing the fault may not happen - we are too egoistic at times to realize the faults. If this is the case, I know it is painful and sad, but he should start afresh. You will have to be his motivator and guardian angel for a while, if not more.

@thesids they told him even if they let him prove it, they didn't care. it was proof he was dishonest, which makes no sense. if he proved it was a mistake, then he lied about nothing. honestly it feel as if they were looking for an excuse, he was never coached, never written up, never even got his hand slapped, normally there would be a meeting and a write up and he would have had the chance to show it wasn't true

yeah he has been a B now for 5 years, he was so close to taking the national tests to get his paramedic certs. the B he can take anywhere, he earned that elsewhere and those certs are good for a year, and I think he could keep those up on his own anyways

@Jessicalynnt Sorry to hear that. But what a waste of his old company's money. Why train someone up to test level and then pull the plug?
