As a child growing up in the late sixties early seventies the world seem to make sense, even though we were experiencing a major conflict in Vietnam. Although things were far from being black our teachers. So what happened? Why does it seem every value I grew up with, and embraced is now nonexistent?or white we seem to have a basic but strong understanding of the difference between right, and wrong. We knew that racism was wrong, and unacceptable. We knew that the United States of America was the greatest country in the world, and that we lead by example, and would never abandoned our allies. We respected authority in any context whether it be our police force, our parents, or our teachers. So what happened? Why does it seem every value I grew up with, and embraced is now nonexistent?

Hi, welcome! Yes, you are so right, this world has changed so much, it is nothing like it was back in the 60's. You would think with technology advancing so much over the years we would be so much better but people have only gotten worse. Sad!

I think technology is a big part of the problem, it has made our children lazy, spoiled, and lacking a good work ethic.

@Grandpa_Clueless oh yes, kids today have no idea what it was like to have to keep jumping up to lower the volume or change the channel on the tv that was black and white.

It may seem like that at times, but the country is still sound and doing okay. The mid to late 1960s were tumultuous and very grim. That war cost the lives of over 58000 Americans and was the wrong thing to do. The protests in the streets were violent and the 1968 Demo convention in Chicago was awful to see with cops beating demonstrators. That is when I thought the country was coming apart. If someone like Trump or Cruz is elected, we will be in real jeopardy again.
