Advantages of Facebook

In one of my previous posts, we talked about how Facebook was used to gauge or measure a friendship which is definitely not the reason why that social media lay form was created (I'm sure Mike Zuckerberg will agree with me). But this time, I want to talk about the advantages or the good things which were made possible through Facebook. For one thing, it helps bridge the distance and time difference between families especially if there are thousands of miles between them. It is a cheap means of staying in touch and sharing your life with them as if you're with them as it happens. It is also a good and for the lost part, free way of marketing your product or small business. I also heard of people using Facebook to help distribute information faster, like an amber alert or a severe weather warning. If you are in Facebook, can you think of other ways it has helped you?

The reason you mention is the major one for me. For friends they use Facebook for their business and for bringing co-workers together. It's great for checking in while on vacation. I guess you send money now. You can also track down people if you know their married name or maiden in some cases. I think it does a lot of good.

I saw that feature on Facebook recently - being able to send money. I have not tried it though, plus I'm a little cautious about sending money online other than thru PayPal.

@celticeagle What's even funnier is the bill collectors having Facebook pages of their own as well.

Facebook always help understand whats going on around me. Connecting with friends, group messages, it also help me find and connect people with tastes same as mine. Also there you need a correction its 'Mark Zuckerberg' not 'Mike'

I use Facebook for my babysitting business, it has helped a lot with it in the past. Once we get our own place again I will be using it again for that reason.

And I also think it's the best way to contact businesses or even to send feedbacks.

I don't use Facebook for friends or family, I use it for professional networking. Of course I do have friends and family on the site but the majority of my connections are with those I share interests with, and many of those people I do not know personally.

I know some people who have online stores and all they did is set up a Facebook page for their online stores and operate from there.

I love being able to group message my friends and keep in touch during the day. We have a chat that's been going for over 2 years and we talk every day.

It really helps communication from people who are not nearby. I think it's also a good help for small businesses online.

Facebook is my "go to" to see what's happening with family & friends. My family has it's own private group where we can communicate and share pictures with each other. It certainly is easy for us all to keep connected this way

Ohh I like that idea. It's like the family's own online bulletin board.
