American Politics is on a pendulum that goes from one extreme to the other. Most people believe American Politics are stable and only moderate candidates are elected. Actually, the exact opposite is true. In 1980 we elected an extreme conservative in Ronald Reagan. In 2008 we elected an extreme liberal in Barack Obama. Now we will elect another extreme conservative in Donald Trump.

@PeterGagliardi PLEASE don't say that, I'm also a baby-boomer, a few years younger than Donald, and the idea that he's one of the "great" ones of my generation is totally depressing. I'd say he's one of the disgraces of our generation. Also, if he hasn't matured by age 70 I don't think he's ever going to, do you?

I lot of people share this concern. He is one of the great men of his generation, and it will be interesting to see if he can grow and mature as a candidate.

I don't know if it is good or bad for all the US. but based on his speecch it seems not so good example for the rest of the world. bad days for the US it seems. his speech against mexicans, muslims shows me he is yet another dumb guy in that position. but seriously what is wrong with the world and such leaders.

I see a lot of comments such as this. It will be interesting to see if he can grow as a candidate and potential President.

It remains to be seen as I am not a big fan of either of the frontrunners and worry that Trump who had supported the Clintons is a candidate wearing wolf's clothing

Good point Mary! Trump is a big gamble just as Reagan and Obama were. He is starting to look unstoppable.

@PeterGagliardi Which is scary since some of the things republicans are for he was once against but now is saying he supports

It is always scary when we vote for a President as they have so much power. The only thing that seems certain is that Trump is a winner, and I think he is going to win again. Hard to say what he will do once he is elected.
