Writing things down...

Have you heard that saying, The biggest lie we can tell ourselves is, " I don't need to write that down, I can remember it." This happens to me all the time. I am notorious for forgetting things. I carry a little notebook with me so I can write everything down. The only time I don't write it down is when I forget that little notebook. Earlier today I was driving home from my errands and I had the greatest idea for a post here and I knew for sure I would be able to remember it by the time I got home. Sure enough, I forgot. All because I didn't have my little notebook with me to write it down. That'll teach me. Do you write everything down?

I have reached the point where I write everything down, otherwise I forget.

I write down the things that MUST be remembered, it is the most effective way of making sure it is done.

@T_gray During this week I have been throwing a list of things together on my white board - it was a great exercise as I got the list of everything I needed written. The I transcribed it into my notebook this afternoon, which will ensure I get the things done.

That is very true. I don't think about that sometimes. I always say I don't use my phone to its full potential.

I know at times I need to write things down because I do forget. I went shopping earlier and forgot coffee, which isn't good.

Yes, I am like you and have been this way for a long time but my problems is I write lots of notes when I am watching tv or in the car or at my computer. I have notes all over the place and never go back to read them. Every so often when I clean my computer area I find some notes that are to late to take care of. At 73, who cares, I guess they weren't important.

@T_gray My husbands computer area is so neat and clean and mine is a big mess. I make it look more organized than it is. I learned from an old store manager when I was an assistant. His desk was always like mine and when he knew one of the big shots was coming in, he put all his papers into a folding envelope and everything looked neat.

@ramapo17 oh you don't even want to know what my desk looks like. Is that kind of like when a kid just throws everything under the bed to make their room look clean.

I am a great "LIST" person, I have lists for everything but sometimes I forget about them. I drive my husband crazy all the time.
