What is your seating preference when you are dining out? Booth or table?
For me, I prefer booth seating! If there isn't a booth seating option, it literally is like minus points regardless if the food is fab!
Why I enjoy booth seating?
- More privacy, you don't feel cramped together with the other tables plus you have space to eat. I feel the tables are so cramped together you have no space to eat or feel comfortable.
- Generally with booth seating, the seating is more comfortable from the cushions!
- Easier to sit.. I find that sitting in chairs, it is usually sort of low!
Overall: I like being far away and eat in a comfortable setting!

I do prefer a booth but they can still be somewhat cramped. I like the corner booths where the seating wraps around the table. The only problem there is if you are in the middle and need to be excused to the restroom.

The corner booths are the best and generally the most spacious. I love restaurants that offer me that option, without me having to ask.
And, I agree when being in booths sometimes seating in the middle and you need to use the rest room, you would have to be excused.

@infatuatedbby My aunt, uncle, nephew and grandfather dine out on Friday evenings together. I used to tag along but not so much anymore since I work every Friday. Even so, I was always one of the "monkey's" in the middle of the booth.

@ScribbledAdNauseum Hehe. I always like to squish in first when it comes to booths. Even an airplane, I prefer the window seat (though I do not fly often as I fear airplanes). And when I traveled by myself, I had to go to the restroom, but did not want to excuse myself 3 times to get out so I just waited.

Since booths are usually around the perimeter and tables are in the middle of the room, I like to be against the wall....at a booth. We went to Ruby Tuesday the other day and the guy tried to seat us at a table and I asked for a booth. He had to clean it...gee, it should have been cleaned with the previous customers left.....

Oh yes, I like the booths also because you are more distant. I like to eat in a peaceful, cozy setting. And away from people, lol.
And, I know that feeling! Like shouldn't this be cleaned once someone had left! But generally, I do not mind because I really prefer the booth table!

@AbbyGreenhill Oh yes! I have had an incident where a family was eating dinner. They had a little kid who kept popping his head and looked at me. His parents would tell him stop it! Let the couple eat their dinner, lol.

I love booths, but I'm not a petite lady anymore, and some booths seem to have been made exclusively for the slender among us. I have to gauge the depth of the seat or note that the table is free-standing and can be moved before attempting to sit. They are more comfortable than a table and allow me to have my purse and coat sitting next to me. But, it's embarrassing to be taken to a booth only to have to ask for another seat because you don't fit.

I have noticed in some restaurants they have booths for like (2) and it isn't very spacious. When I am seated there, even though usually it is just my boyfriend and I - we would look at each other and request a bigger booth table especially if it is reasonable (like the restaurant isn't crowded).
No need to feel embarrassed! We need our comfort to eat! In the end, we're paying for it, so no need to worry!

I would love to visit Europe one day! I wouldn't mind of the seating there, but it is probably because table seating can fit more as the stores are more smaller.

@infatuatedbby Yes, this is the problem in Europe, crowded cities, very high rents and small spaces.

Yes, I do prefer booth seating also! I like the coziness and privacy booths have to offer. Most likely booths are distant from the rest of the seating which is a plus factor.

I'd have to agree with you and say I get a booth every time. This is mainly due to the comfort and roomy space.
