It's snowing!

Ok, so it's only snowing lightly just now, but nevertheless it is definitely snow and not more rain. It looks so peaceful. Small flakes are falling softly and lying on the ground.
This light snow is definitely the type that my husband reckons if you go to bed with it snowing as just now, then although there's not much lying, it somehow just multiplies in the night and the following morning there is loads. We shall see...
The forecast for us though was to have light snow this afternoon, turning heavy in the evening, before going back to rain in the middle of the night. I really hope the part about rain isn't correct, but with the way it's been lately I'd imagine it's what will be happening.
How is the weather where you are today? Hope it isn't causing anyone any problems.

Here in Kentucky (US) this morning is cold, but clear! And I hope it stays that way! We do have a forecast for snow tomorrow night, but we haven't seen much yet so far! :)

@Darroch Last winter snow and flooding had us stuck at home for at least 19 days straight! I'm in favor of anything other than that again!

@Ponder243 We've had winters in the past when we have stayed home at times, rather than travel. This winter though we had unprecedented amounts of rain and sadly the village we live in was flooded. We were among the lucky ones and never got our home flooded, but loads of others were not so lucky and businesses too. Just awful.
19 days must have felt like forever though. Not surprised you never want that again.

Cold, but clear is good. We actually had that sort of day yesterday, which was lovely especially after the continuous rain (and flooding) which our area has been getting this winter. But snow is preferred here to more rain as when it rains, people are getting worried about more potential flooding.

It's just stupidly wet here in the Eastern Angles. Mud and big puddles everywhere. No snow. We haven't had snow for years, not proper snow. Enjoy your fluttering of snow.

Well, I did enjoy seeing the snow, but as the weather forecast had predicted, it sadly didn't last. It's been raining overnight and raining lightly just now, so whatever snow there was has now turned to slush.
It's not much fun when it's raining as much like is obviously also the case where you are.

That is awesome that it is snowing! Here in Southern California - it is slightly gloomy but some sunshine!

@jaboUK Just local - They are supposed to be going to Glenshee, though that depends on their being enough snow for slopes to be open, but not so much that roads get closed. If there isn't enough snow for next week, it gets rescheduled for another week, most likely March.

@Missmwngi January for us normally has snow, but this winter we've had an unprecedented amount of rainfall, which has resulted in lots of flooding.

Great news yeah it is not snowing much this winter. Winter just does not feel right without loads of snow. Thats my opinion though. By the way nice to meet you

@BluestEye Can't comment too much on London as I've only been there a few times, but where we live normally has a bit colder, but drier weather than say the West side of the country. Sadly, not been the case this year. It seems like we've had nothing but rain. Really hope that the weather here isn't changing to be more winters like what we are having now.
