Do you still get excited for snow?

I remember when I was younger and was excited to see snow. I used to wait up all day or night waiting on the snow if it was forecast to snow. It was so exciting as a child. These days I don't really like seeing snow come or stick around. It is just a pain to me.
My soon to be wife is from the Philippines and has never seen snow in person. She has only seen it on T.V. and is very excited to see snow. (It is on her bucket list to play in snow). Well, tonight or tomorrow she may get to live her dream of playing in the snow. She said she is going to take pictures in the snow and send them to her family to make them jealous. I'm Happy that she will get to check something off her bucket list.
Just want to know your thoughts on snow and if you are excited to see it.

I love to see snow falling I find it magical but I don't like it when I have to drive in it or walk.

@infatuatedbby Since the k1 Visa requires you get married within 90 days of arrival we are going to get legally married at the end of the month. This summer we plan on having the ceremony and a reception. In two or three years we plan on getting married again in the Philippines so the rest of her family can be involved.

I like snow but it can be very detrimental to plans etc. We tend to stay at home when it starts to snow, even just a little bit. A friend from Ohio likes to laugh at the majority of people here as we are very quick to go for our bread and milk and stay indoors.

That is funny you say that. We live in Southern Illinois and people say the same about the bread and milk here. It is really true though, it snows a little and the milk and bread are gone off the shelf real quick.

@rodabod When I was a cashier and people would be picking those items up? I always said "Making french toast for the next week are we?" Some found it funny, others not so much.

Yeah, lots of winter sports up on the east coast. It hasn't been a very snowy winter so far.

When I was still living in the Philippines, I am excited to see snow. Now that I haven been living here for more than 3 years in the Midwest, I have mixed feelings about it. Sure I like how snow can make a picturesque environment the kinds of which can be seen only in hallmark greeting cards, but I do not like it when they make driving dangerous.

I hear you on the driving, here in Southern Illinois we get a lot of ice storms. Those are very scary to drive in.

Probably wouldn't say that I get excited to see snow. At least not the way I did when I was younger. However, usually I feel happy when I see it snow (unless of course it's snowing heavy and I've to drive somewhere - then it can be a pain).
We had snow fall here yesterday and I know I definitely felt very happy and relieved, almost at peace. This winter we've had such unprecedented amounts of rain and flooding, it was so lovely just to see some white stuff falling. Sort of like back to normality, though sadly it's back to a little rain today.

This year has been weird here too. We have had the same as you with lots of rain and hardly any snow. Last night we just go a dusting of snow which is fine by me. Kathy got to see it and it didn't cause to many problems. I agree watching it is kinda lifting on the emotions.
