Disappointed

Have you ever felt disappointed over something that really is none of your business? A good friend of mine went to WalMart today and as she was getting back into her car she witnessed someone running into a vehicle and did a far bit of damage to to other vehicle. My friend said the guy who ran into the car was more interested in his own truck than the car he hit. My friend sat there and watched him get back in his truck and drive away. I asked my friend if she took down his licence number and she was appalled I would even suggest such a thing, she said she didn't want to get involved. I get it but I would be very disappointed if this was my car and most grateful for any help from a witness. What do you all think?

It would not have hurt her at all to take down the license plate number and call the police to report it. They could have kept her anonymity and honestly she would only need to give a statement to what she saw I am sure. I would want to do what I could to help.

Shoot, even writing the license number down and leaving it on the victim's car would have been an option. No need to personally contact police at all.

@yukimori This is true! Though it also depends on the weather. She could have even gone back inside and told customer service. They could have called the owner of the car to the desk and she could have given the license plate information than. It's a little too late now though.

@ScribbledAdNauseum My husband had to do that after someone hit a car in his workplace's parking lot and took off. About the time that he put the third page through and nobody responded, he realized that it was his vehicle that had been hit.

Yes I would have too, based on the fact that I would have been extremely grateful.

All the Walmart stores here have video surveillance. I'd hope that they would be able to get the person's information that way. Hope your friend never finds herself in a situation where someone could have helped her out but didn't want to get involved....

This is true, most stores have video surveillance outside and inside of their premises. I had not thought of that.
