Cold Day, Hot soup

I had to call in today due to the fact I was practically immobile this morning with back pain, stiffness, and more pain. with my husband's help, it took me half and hour to get out of bed, and I still wasn't able to stand up (my mattress and box spring is on the floor, we don't have a frame yet). So after crawling down the stairs, I was able to stand just to use the bathroom, and lay back down on the comfy sofa. After a trip to StatCare (a little clinic thing that is like an ER, but without the price) my husband picked some meds, and I have been napping on and off all day pretty much. I must say, I hate it. I want to work, I want to be able to do anything I want. But I can't. And it sucks. I do feel better that I did a few hours ago (that may be because of the various meds I'm taking), I'm able to sit in a chair without wanting to slice my spine with a katana. It has been cold and blustery most of the day (almost mirroring my mood), so I guess I must be thankful for the gift of staying in doors. With cold days, hot soup always warms my soul and lifts my spirits. As I'm typing this out, I have munched on a grilled cheese sandwich (a must with hot soup) and one of my all time faves, cream of mushroom soup. I feel warm from my nose all the down to my toes! Will I be able to work tomorrow? I hope. I've been taking it easy, resting, taking meds, and resting some more. I might go in even if I shouldn't. Might be able to do something that can help out. Until then though, I'll be enjoying my hot soup on this cold day...

Oh I'ma resting! I'm just a bit of a workaholic, so sometimes it's hard to take care of myself. But my husband is helping me with that :)

I love brownies! I'm feeling great, but I know not to push it, an injured back is a fragile thing.

That seems pretty chilly for California, or is that normal? Pizza and lentil soup sounds oddly good together...

My family too! Did you know chili is sometimes classified as a soup? Chili was a winter staple growing up.

Cream of mushroom soup is just the best! I hope you don't go back to work before you should. You might make the problem worse.
