Whenever I get a call from a number I don't recognize, I don't answer it, and I will bllock the number. Most of the time, they are telemarketers anyway, trying to sell me something, so I just don't give them a chance to do that anymore. You did do the right thing though by checking the number out. You just can't be to careful nowadays, that is for sure.

@hema7213 I know the numbers of my family, and some friends I do, but those that are in an area, where I don't have any family or friends, those are the ones that I ignore, as more than likely, they are telemarketing calls anyway. From now on, I am not going to answer any call, from any number that I don't recongnize, or are not in my area.

i think it is better to ignore.....but you never know if you get an emergency call from your family or friends...

It is good that you did not give them any of your info. I hope those people get caught doing things like that. So many scammers out there.

Never answer any questions or give any information to a stranger on the phone. They can say they are whoever they want, but you don't have to believe it. If you think there might be a problem at your bank, call them at a number that you know is actually for the bank. Never call back a number that they tell you to call. There are scams and scams out there.
