Nice little surprise at work today

I came in for my favorite day of the week, Sunday. I like it because it's quiet. Since I'm getting over a cold I needed some time anyway. So why not get paid for it? Besides, I brought along plenty of projects to work on.
I went to the employee notifications and discovered the weekly congratulations. I was on the very top! Roger, our site director led off with something like "Rohvannyn Shaw received a customer compliment from the client (a very big thing, rather rare by the way) who said that she did a great job. Thank you for all that you do, going above and beyond on each and every call! By the way, go see (an operations manager) for a gift card."
Wow! What a surprise! It made me really happy. Sometimes it pays off sitting next to a bunch of supervisors and operations managers all day and letting them hear your calls!

Congratulations for you. You do your job well. I wait for weekend, because I can relax on those days. Specially I really like Sunday, because I go to beach at every Sunday evening and I can get more fun from it. Then I can face to new week in fresh mood.

It sounds nice to be able to go to the beach. I liked it when I used to live near one!

Congrats, for your hardwork. It is very rare that manager complements. As for sitting next to supervisors, trust me it has both ups and downs. I have experienced that, i am usually a person who finishes job on time, so i am used to getting a stink eye from my manager for leaving on time everyeve. Although my sup appreciated me often, my project manager always ended up giving me low appraisal grades. Somehow by gods grace, i was able to change projects. Happy that it worked out for you. keep up! :)

That's a great surprise indeed. I'm also working for a call center forever. The calls are not always pleasant but when you are able to get a compliment from your caller, it makes it worth the patience.

I do not work on Sundays, but sometimes I prefer to work on that particular day as there will be no disturbances whether from the phone ringing non-stop or to people popping in the office needing something or another. I feel like I am able to accomplish a lot when I am not bothered by anyone. Usually when work piled up and I want to be current, I can always rely on working on a Sunday to accomplish a lot.
