Alcohol-free January Progress Update

Today is the 11th of January so that means we've passed the mark of being one third of the way through our alcohol-free January. I'd love to say it's been torture but I'd be lying - it's not been a big deal at all. I did have dinner and watch my colleague polish off two large glasses of red wine and I wasn't too bothered at all.
I must admit - and I know it might sound odd - that I quite like a cold glass of white wine in the bath at the end of a long day but I can go without quite easily.
The only sign of slight 'tension' was that we bashed the heck out of two chocolate Santas left over from Christmas and for once I didn't feel too much sympathy as I smacked his head on the coffee table. Poor Santa.
To the many other members who are also off the juice for January, how are you doing?

I haven't had a drink in over 35 years...and I used to do some heavy duty drinking. One day I just gave it up. Is this only for January that you gave it up?

@AbbyGreenhill No, it's a 'dry January'. Just a month to 'rest' the liver. But I'm not a big drinker so it's less of a challenge than for many people who are.

interesting question once i didn't drink anything for 10 months. When you are concerned about your health it seems you have a great power of will. as for January, it is impossible to refuse drinking in this month here. For example, every January contains these reasons to have a drink: New Year, Christmas, Old New Year, Epiphany, Chinese New Year. I may add several colleagues' and friends' birthdays, my sister's birthday, my day of giving up smoking anniversary. Nevertheless every person has a choice either to join the joy or refuse and get themselves busy with something
