My number 1 track of all time is David Bowie and Tina Turner playing "Tonight" live. Bowie is my favourite artiste of all time and there is good reason for this Major Tom was one of the earliest persona's that he took on and every few years he went through massive changes via Ashes to Ashes, Heroes, then Ziggy Stardust to Aladdin Sane and beyond, eash bringing with them a new aspect of his personality. He was rock star that few expected to reach 30, yet even last week he brought out a new album on his 69th birthday and didn't tell anyone about his health troubles. "Goodbye to one of the greats, Rock legend, David Bowie" he says as Ziggy plays Guitar

I was shocked this morning Peter. He was a man of so many colors. His influence will go on in this world. He was a very big part of my teenage years in London. RIP #DavidBowie

@TiarasOceanView When I saw Bowie in the Marquee club he was having a night out with his music industry friends, there used to be many of them at the club on Friday and Saturday nights. I Saw Bowie perform a couple of times, most notably at the Milton Keynes Bowl during the Serious Moonlight tour.

I remember there were songs from the 1980s that he sung that I listened to. He was a good singer.

It was the 80s that I really got into Bowie, but I also remember him from the 70s.

I don't go following most stars so don't take notice when they die.

I too was shocked at this news this morning, especially as he released a new album last week. While I know he will be a legend and was an incredible talent he was not among the artists that I ever followed. In fact I don't have even one of his albums.

@JolietJake He was indeed unique. I think because I didn't enjoy his work right from the start, I just never got interested later. I do sing along with some of the tracks if they are on the radio but I was/am not a fan.

I loved the way he they himself into the character of his piece, like living Zigg Stardust (the album I am listening to at the moment).
