Gained Five

Well now that the holiday are all behind me, it is time to get back to life as usual and back to trying to eat healthier. I stepped on the scale this morning to check the holiday damage. I am up 5 pounds, but still down 29 pounds for the year. Looks like I need to work on losing that same five pounds that I have already lost. So I was thinking, shouldn't we get some kind of bonus for losing the same weight more than once? Like, maybe instead of five pounds coming off, it could be seven! So did you gain over the holiday's as well?
The dishwasher company called this past week. They cannot fix the dishwasher and they will be replacing it, so within the next 10 days I should be able to go out and get a new one. I hope this time I can pick one that will last. I do know I will not be buying the same brand that we have. It only lasted about a year, yuck.
Have a Beautiful day!

@whiteream thank you, it is my little guy. He hated the water last time, this time we could not get him out

After all your hard work, you should be a pro at knocking off that weight. Actually, I lost weight with my piggish eating, but my walking must have helped. I love your photo. Is that your son on a vacation? Btw, we bought a Bosch dishwasher and love it. It seems everyone in our family has one, too.

We had a Bosch and we did love it, with our excessive use it did not last as long as we thought it should. So we went to this whirlpool and it lasted even less time. I think we just use it more than it is made for. I may need to take it down a notch and use plastic plates sometimes. We will probably get a Bosch again it was quiet and did work great.

Sorry about the five pounds. I've avoided scales but I know I've eaten more than my share of chocolate since Christmas. Bad!

@mom210 I like to make special treats around Christmas, but two of my kids live too far away to come home. My other son has a gluten intolerance. I adjusted a few recipes to be gluten-free and insisted he take them home, so I was safe from some extra calories, but the chocolates from my stocking . . . they were all mine.

@Sheilamarie78 That is very creative to adjust those recipes, way to go. I am trying to adjust a cake today for hubbys bday, he is diabetic. It is so hard to make him a good cake

@jillybean1222 Are you still doing your Yoga? I know how much you like it, so I hope so. I have not lost any since the beginning of the year, guess I need to do something more drastic.

It is hard with kids, they want you to make this and that for the season. Let's face it, they are little once, we can always diet later. I did not worry tons about gaining, we were having fun baking. Actually when I think about it, as much as we baked and ate, I should have gained more. Good luck with your losing.

@mom210 there was a time that drinking didn't seem to keep me from losing weight. i don't know if it is my age or my body has changed or what. but i do think the fact that i have cut down is helping me. of course, i haven't lost more.

Visit the showroom, but do not buy until you look up reviews online. Some last forever, or so it seems, just like those five pounds.

We have been looking at them and reading real people reviews. My mother has had her Maytag forever, but I have heard they have a lot of repairs so I have mixed feeling on them. Plus her house just has her and her hubby, so our households are very different.

@ElizabethWallace That is what we are thinking of getting, we had one before and it washed very well and was quiet, but I thought it would last longer. It did last 5 years,my hubby says with our use, that is like 15 because we wash so many loads each day. I just hate using plastic or paper plates. It makes me feel like I am feeding the kids fast food. So we use dishes for all meals.

I haven't notice my weight gain before I was pregnant. My weight was always around there. But, I will surely start doing more exercises once I have given birth and got enough rest, as I'd like to be healthier, otherwise it's not easy to take care of the young children. I always admire you have so much energy to take care of many children!
Good that you are able to get the dishwasher replaced for you, hope you'll pick the one that lasts long.
I can see your boy was having fun with the wave!

@mom210 I returned to regular briskwalking each morning for at least 45 minutes then I also do 10 minute booty shaking waist workout by following a video at youtube. I do it twice every session to make it at least 20 minutes It has been effective.

I didn't over eat during the holiday's and actually lost 15 pounds which I had gained from breaking my leg and being in the nursing home for a month, so I'm back where I was before it all happened, so now I'm trying to continue going down instead of up again.

@mom210 I didn't do any of that during the holidays, which might be why I was able to get it down. My doctor's appointment had me up two, though when I weighed myself this morning it was only up a few tenths. However, it's still less than when I was in the nursing home, and now I'm starting on the treadmill and hope to get it down even more.

that is so annoying, I remember when things used to last, maybe that is a bad thing to be able to remember those days, because I do expect them to last and most things fail badly at lasting. People cannot fix liek they used to be able to do either.

Speaking of dishwashers our has leaked all over the kitchen the last two times I used it. It was here when we bought the house so it could be quite old. I think I will be washing dishes by hand for a while as there are many other things on the list ahead of a dishwasher.
My weight may have fluctuated up a bit, but I am not counting it as gaining so far.

I would like to gain back the lost 3 kilograms, but with my active lifestyle when on duty, it seems I will maintain my slim body. I am a voracious eater, but I work hard too.

@ridingbet I think we all get sick when the weather is like that. One of my twins, the one that has had all the health issues, gets sick at the beginning of winter and stays sick all winter long. We try to keep him away form people as much as possible, but it always happens. Poor little guy. I think if he ate a good diet like the rest of us he would be okay, but he is the one on a feeding tube. So he does not eat the same things.

On average ppl do tend to gain a small amount on a holiday, but usually it's not as much as one first thinks, so it's not much to worry about, and that's still great about your progress before that:). For me, because I tend to do the cooking at home...I tend to actually, well, my cooking sucks, so...I am losing weight right now unintentionally, haha. My cooking is just...unappealing even to me;/
