Japan is very orderly and very clean

Before Christmas, I joined my daughter in her trip to Japan. She was attending a friend's wedding in Yokohama and at the spur of the moment, no longer tied to a job, I decided to join her.
I've confirmed great impressions of this country. The Japanese culture characterize discipline and order. This is shown in all form in most of the places that we visited.
I found no garbage cans on the public streets, nowhere in site. They have a sign that says "Do not litter, take home your garbage". And they all conform, not even a cigarette butt or a candy wrapper in site. Very clean. This is what happens when discipline is taken as a duty and everyone conforms.
Back in Australia, there are garbage bins, but a lot of litter are scattered, even with signage that littering is penalized. tsk tsk tsk.
How is the litter being managed in your places?

A noisy big truck come about 4-5a one morning a week to pick it up. Downtown we have a enclosed garbage receptacle on nearly every corner. We are pretty clean.

I think there are clean places in the US but for sure they were not in the cities. Cities in my area are polluted too.

There are no garbage bins because Japanese people are not supposed to eat or drink on the streets. Actually, I'm a foreigner living in Japan and it took a long time for me to get used to it. I am always surprised now whenever I see trashcans. It's like finding a rare item, lol.

The Japanese are really disciplined people . I admire them so much for that , even in their health aspect .
As to the garbage , of it sucks here . Some people would just leave their trash in a big black trash plastic , so when the garbage truck wasn't able to pick them up , the dogs will . How irresponsible some people are here .

The same as most places rose.
Just trash cans around the streets mostly at bus stops and stores, train stations.
It is a very clean city here that I live in, but there are the odd places where trash is strewn around.
Yes I understand Japan is lovely.

It's even worse in my country despite the garbage bins! we are near japan but we are certainly too different from each other when it comes to discipline.

That's really good. I think Japanese culture is quite good.
I have been Australia and Canberra too, I think your country is clean. I always wish my country can be like that as well, but it's not at all. There are many times we can't find garbage bins, and littering seems to be everywhere. I have the habit of bringing home my garbage as well, because I couldn't find a garbage bin.

This made me dream again of going to Japan. As a child it was my dream all because I have always love the cherry blossoms in photos. Philippines is not as clean. There are places that are clean but there are places that are certainly not.

I loved Japan. I found this a wonderful place to visit. I spent 8 days there before flying to china. On my return to the islands I spent another 4 days there. I can only catch a plane back here from Japan when I work in China. I found the places I visited in Japan exciting and so wonderful. I would love to go back again soon.
