75% to 90% off Holiday Clearance! Anyone score awesome deals during the Holiday Sale?

It's already two weeks into January and some stores still have Christmas/Holiday Clearance Sales going on. Many of the sales I have seen are 75% to 90% off! Was anyone able to score amazing deals? Typically, I would always shop after the holidays to score deals on new ornaments for upcoming Christmas or just some knick knacks however one of my resolutions/goals this year is to not hoard anymore unnecessary items. Yesterday, I went to my local CVS Pharmacy to purchase a lottery ticket and noticed they had tons of items for 90% like gift wrapping paper, bows, candies, ornaments, stocking stuffer treats but I was able to refrain myself from purchasing a lot. Instead, I bought 2 rolls of wrapping paper for $.59 cents each, originally $5.99! The wrapping paper was cute, lots of Santa Claus and Reindeers. Last week, I also came across bedding for my parents bed at Target for $9 originally $30. The set is 100% cotton and came with a fitted sheet, flat sheet, and two pillow cases which is an amazing deal! I have seen many score awesome deals at Michaels, Target, Walmart, CVS, Walgreens, etc but I refrained myself this year.

@infatuatedbby yes the place needs a lot of money to get it back to being in good shape. So right now every penny pretty much goes to that.

@lokisdad Good luck with your home projects! Having a home/roof over our heads is most important.

I am contemplating purchasing a couple of Christmas items from our local Aldi store. They are marked down to a price where I am really really tempted to buy them. But, the fact that the bank account is quite low, I walk away.

@infatuatedbby If I did have the extra money I would have bought them and stashed them away for gifts.

I have a tendency to buy items I don't need so I had to help myself from not overspending on knick knacks.

This just shows bad planning on the part of the merchants. They truly believe that the economy is doing so well that they had stocked up more than they could sell. I think they will not make the same mistake this year.

Every year here in the states, they have sales like that! They already made money when they sold these items for retail during Nov, so I think they can afford the sale.
