Any Esperantists/Posting here in foreign languages?

Saluton/Hi! I've been learning Esperanto through Dulolingo and Lernu. Just curious if there are any other Esperanto speakers on here. Also, I had a question about posting things in languages other than English. According to myLot's guidelines, English is the de facto language on here, and foreign languages aren't exactly allowed. Can I post stuff in Esperanto ( or another language) if I also provide the English translation? What do you think? Thanks! (I realize I already did just that in this post, but I think a single word is at least cool, lol.)

Never heard of that language before! I speak Indonesian, French, Getman, and Spanish though! Also ASL and FSL, not like you can type those though. XD

Not unless you try to type in gloss, but that is only an encoded approximation. HI! ME KNOW #ASL SAME-AS-YOU. #LOL I actually earned an ASL interpreting degree back in college. That is great you speak so many diffrent languages! I am working my way up to poly-lingot status. I know how to say a few things in German. How did come to know several languages?

@tarotmore well my parents are Indonesian so that is my mother tongue. I live in Canada so I speak English here and learned French since age six. Spanish was a language I was always intrigued with so I taught myself that the summer of grade seven, entering grade eight. By the end of grade eight, I started teaching myself a bit of German and advanced French. I ended up learning Bavarian German because of The Book Thief grasping my attention there and am learning High German because I plan to study there next year. I learned French Sign Language also at age six (I learned France French and Canadian French), learned ASL last summer by accident (I watched a show and I'm very analytical), and am learning German Sign Language since I plan to study in Germany. Also I forgot to add that I can read and write in Russian. It's very broken when I write since I switch between formal and informal, but people still understand me. I learned that because I conducted a psychology study that I will publish next year.

@DanciaKS That is so amazing! I'm a bit jealous! English is my native language, and I studied French for 4 years in school, but I forgot a fair amount, but I can still read it some.So mostly, it's just the ASL, English, and Esperanto for me right now. Keep up the good work! It all sounds exciting.

Esperanto is a made up language right? I have this weird fantasy of buying land from either Greenland, Russia or Canada and make the very first Esperanto speaking country. I know I have to be a quadrillionaire to make that happen.

In a sense yes, however, by virtue of their nature, ALL languages are made up, lol. Esperanto just isn't a natural one. It is constructed, meaning it was built purposefully. But since Esperanto is a livling language, it has been evolving naturally. You could say though that it was invented. And an Esperanto-speaking country would be awesome-sauce! I know there was almost an Esperanto-speaking country or region in Europe, anc I have read about a couple of micro nations that adopted their short lifespans, but no land for Esperantists yet. You need to get to work, Captain, and start posting on here like crazy! Make it happen! ;)

@tarotmore I know there is a university in San Marino that teaches Esperanto. I think the population of the small country San Marino speaks Italian though.

I believe this is a site for English only. That said I am cool if it is translated.

This is what I found in the Community Guide. Posting in a language other than English - Please don't use words or symbols from other languages unless you are asking how to translate a word or phrase.

Personally I think posting it with a translation would be fine. But I would ask before doing it.

English can be a foreign-enough language for many, and it can get quite badly mutilated on here betimes...
