My #1 Money Saver
Cable
Disabled cable and purchased Amazon Fire TV and stick. I side loaded a program called Kodi (totally) legal and I get to watch all my cable channels without commercials...side note: It is a free software program and does come with glitches. IT IS really worth it, you just have to be a little tech savvy, just a little.
Phone:
I kept my Landline, just dropped all the extra features since we have a cell phone. I think it's about 14 or 17.00 bucks, from 79.00. I had dsl too. I cannot stress this enough, get a landline stand alone phone (non-digital) none electric. During9/11 and Hurrican Sandy, that was the only thing that worked. We had no power for, four days but our family was able to check on us.
My Favorite
using Vinegar and a little rubbing alcohol as a disinfectant and cleaner. Hubby hates the smell. I make 3 spray bottles and the last forever!
Baking soda and vinegar as a degreaser- cleans pots stove, baked on stuck on grease. Baking soda for carpet.
Using the $5 coupon on Saturdays + my other coupons at Dollar General.
Dollar Store stuff:
Buying shower caps at the dollar store and use them as bowl covers.+ Dish detergent, binder clips to close the potato chip bags, to keep them from getting old. I also like daily shower cleaner spray. I use the vinegar on the weekends to get rid of scum and hard water stains but the daily shower cleaner keeps it clean during the week.
Some canned vegetables 2 for 1.00
I use our local Farmers Market for produce:
$1.00 bg of unions, $2.00 for a bag of grapes, $2.00 for plums, $1.00 for a big bag of carrots and 2.00 for a big bag of spinach and broccoli. Fresh Garlic $1.00 well, I'm sure you get the picture.
I used to hate Aldi, discount stores, bring and pack your own bags. Well, I learned to purchase my milk there for 2.69 instead of 4 bucks. Eggs 2 bucks instead of 3.69 or more. Large tub of no name margarine $1.79 (it's pretty good.) Cheese "Kraft" 1.79 or maybe a little more. I purchase a very large pre-cooked ham for 7.00 bucks... sliced em up, froze some and made the rest with meals... Had to boil it some, loaded with salt.
Dog food since I have two (1) 9 yrs and the other 4/5 months. Rachel Ray has been promoting her New dog food and I found out it's great for puppies and dogs, all natural ingredients. It's Nutru something...I get the 3 buck coupons and buy the large bag.
I get the local free rabbi shots, our local municipality offers in the spring.
Their shots, discounted (no kill animal shelters.)
We also work with our neighbors. They take what we can't use if they can use it and visa-verse.
Freecycle - great group to find items you need. I received a large dog crate for my puppy. I also had a ton of legos that I gave away. Plus more stuff.
Craigslist- Free listings.
I picked up a patio set (you know how expensive they are.) It had rust and needed a new paint job. When I finished you would have never known.
Youtube video
It cost me 7 bucks to fix my non-stop running toilet.Plumber wanted to charge me 40.00
I have to have the internet - I have the lowest package. I purchased my own WIFI router and learned how to increase my internet speed for free.
That's it for now, I do have more but let's see how this topic goes.
I am going to tweet and G+1 this one out. I know people have extras they can add and tips they can use.

I mend my socks and whatever else I can mend. I hang my laundry to dry. Have a garden and freeze produce. Run the dishwasher and washer when they are full. Wear clothes a second day. When using the oven think what else could be cooked at the same time. Double the casserole and cook two at once - one for the freezer. Stick in a yam to precook for the next day. etc.

Nice, excellent tips! I also find cable TV to be a little wasteful, especially when there are services like Netflix that are totally cheaper. I may try your cleaning advice with vinegar - although I'd be scared that it would make the house smell like...vinegar ?

I have some friends who keep dogs, but they do not buy dog food.
They either give the leftovers to the dogs, or they cook rice and vegetables for the dogs without adding in salt, oil and other seasoning.
I think you can try to cut down on dog food if you can let them eat human food.

Want your vinegar cleaner to smell better for hubby and repel some insects, as well as spiders? Filled a glass jar (I just a large mason jar) with citrus peels and then fill with vinegar. Let it sit for 2 weeks and then drain the infused vinegar into a spray bottle. It still has a little vinegar scent, but not as bad. My husband also didn't like it, but when I saw little to no spiders in my house, I continued to use it.
