My Cat Bites Her Own Nails.

Afternoon fellow MyLotters! So I have to say my cat is pretty entertaining. Perhaps different? Who needs nail clippers for cats when you have one like her? I was sitting here minding my own business watching some Netflix and next thing you know I hear nail biting. Literally! She was sitting on my chair biting her back paws. I'd see nails flying in the air, so she was biting them off! It was cute. I'm not sure if it's common with cats. But I have never seen any of my past cats do this before!

My cats do almost the same thing when they groom themselves.

@x0MandyLynn0x Yeah it is. I do hear him bite his nails, even when he's on my bed. The other one's real quiet about it. But I do see him doing. Force of habit, I guess?

Really?! It's so cute eh! I have two cats, but only one of them does it. I find it entertaining.

@KristenH Well least it saves us from having to have someone do them or ourselves eh?

My cat does that too. I am thinking it is kind of a stress response like it is in humans but I am not sure.

Oh no! Well I hope she isn't stressed. She usually does it when she's cleaning and grooming herself. Even with her hand paws.

She's smart and independent! So you don't need to worry about her nails. I am not sure if it's common for cats, as I have not really take care of a cat before. We had a dog. We helped her to cut her nails when she was younger, but when she grew older, she just took care of them on her own.

Yeah, I love how independent she is, unless she's begging for some cat food. But most cats are that way. Right now she is being all cute cuddled up with herself on the chair. That's awesome your dog does it too!

Well it sure beats scratching the furniture to keep their claws short.

Hah! Well she still manages to scratch furniture! Grrr! But least she shortens her nails a bit!

Aw! Well, my other one doesn't do it. I don't think it's very common.

Our cat does the same,, nails fly everywhere, she doesn't want me to trim them.. I guess she does a better job.

Since I have 12 indoor cats @x0MandyLynn0x , you can bet I hear a lot of nail-clipping going on. One of them moreso than the others.

My dog does the same thinh. I rarely ever have to trim them. She keeps them from becoming overgrown. Never heard of a cat doing that though.
