Taking pictures of scenaries

I like to take pictures of scenaries. Does anybody like it? When I got my camera newly I would not allow my husband to sit at home on weekends. I used to make him take me to the beach or to other nature spots and I used to take around 100 to 200 pictures. Even if about 10 of them turn out well I'll be happy. Taking nice pictures gives my immense happiness.

Nature scene at Sringeri, Karnataka - Photographed at Sringeri
I love to take pictures of nature. Flowers, trees, plants, birds and animals, rivers and water falls. I know a famous wildlife photographer from my city whose pictures were accepted at international photographic magazines, books. He used to take 300 pictures (at a reserved forest) of a tiger walking into pond, refreshing and out from the pond to have its prey. Out of 300, 3 pictures were selected by the interntional publishers. The remaining 297 pictures he has sold it to Indian papers and magazines.

Thanks for the informative response. I have a feeling that my pictures are not that sharp except for those pictures of close ups taken in sunlight. I have just the camera with no extra accessories. So I have not thought of publishing my pictures. I just try out a few things in Photoshop.

I agree, I'm the same way. I took about 1600 photos in a four day trip up the Blue Ridge Parkway from southern NC to the end VA. About half of them turned out wonderfully. I got some great mountain views.

1600 photos. That's amazing and you got half of them in good form too. Very good. Enjoy shooting.

Despite the expanding townships and loss of much of our countryside, there are still a vast number of excellent scenic views around. These can often be far more rewarding than the traditional pictures of family on holiday or friends at a party. With the right type of camera or computer software you can even produce some very impressive panoramic views of the landscape. This can be a little demanding though, because you need to move along with the scenery as you take each shot, otherwise the angle will be wrong.

I did try to take panoramic views but it was a failure. I don't seem to have the time to go out nowadays. I will have to try something during this Christmas holidays. Thanks for responding.

Thanks for the response. Very truely said. I too like to take pictures of anything that is beautiful. Sometimes I don't take my camera out thinking that it's only for shopping that I am going and on that particular day I'll find the setting sun like a huge orange ball of fire in front of my eyes and repent not taking the camera with me. Thanks to Harry too and the picture is nice.
