I received this notice on January 13, 2016. Have you received a notice like this?
You are a member of the Settlement Class if you had an active PayPal account between April 19, 2006 and Nov. 5, 2015.
If your Paypal account was closed or suspended by PayPal you may be eligible to receive a monetary payment upon submission of a valid claim form.
A settlement has been reached in a class action in which the plaintiffs allege, among other things, that PayPal improperly handled disputed transactions on PayPal accounts and improperly placed holds and reserves on accounts or closed or suspended accounts.
I never had my account closed or suspended but I do know people who had their money frozen and were unable to do anything about it.

I got the same email, but unless it's mentioned on the official site, I think its not legit. The only talk of settlement found on the Paypal site was at the link below and it doesn't say anything about the dates or the website posted in that email. I'm gonna forward it to their spoofing email and see what they have to say though.
Menu PayPal Log In Sign Up Q: What is this email referring to?A: The email you received relates to the settlement of a class action lawsuit. In March 2002, a class action lawsuit was filed against PayPal, Inc. in the United States District Court for the No

@Marcyaz Actually China has a totally different internet ecosystem compared with other countries. Most of times the Alipay and Wechat is more popular in China. Most people use Alipay, even some farmers in the market. Alipay is similar to Paypal.

It is more than likely a scam. Do not reply to them or give any details at all. Contact paypal direct if you have been affected.

@garymarsh6 If you think it is a scam than just forget about it.

This is a phishing email. It is bogus and they want your password. I can always tell phishing (fake) emails because there is always a misspelling, a bad punctuation, or bad sentence structure. The word in this email, "allege" is misspelled. Do not respond. Get rid of it. Big companies normally do not send out misspelled communications.

@BelleStarr I haven't received that one as I used to have Norton Antivirus a long time ago and did not find them to be very affective.
