My one idea, nobody really likes (friend and family) but I like the idea.
Disposable toilet mats.
You know how you can put the rug at the bottom of the toilet, it usually matches the bathroom decor. I don't use them because my boys drip and it's gross and they smell and you have to wash them all the time. However, if you don't have anything there then the floor around the toilet it gets all funky. Yea, I asked them several times to watch this but nobody listens.
One day about 2 years ago, I wisheed they had disposable floor/toilet mats, that you could just toss. (Especially if your potty training small ones. I figured some can have designs to match your bathroom and all kinds of stuff. I sketched and designed the idea and did a patent search - but nothing came up. I learned about the poor man's patent but it is expensive and you have to have the materials to actually market your idea.
Then there was the PB&J in a can, sort of like the cheese cans that you can spread on crackers. It's made by Kraft.
My son would want a snack when he was little and he wanted to make it. He loves PB&J on crackers. Making those takes time. I know they have the PB&J that comes in a jar but it's gross and hard. I figured PB&J in a spread (can) would be perfect.
I went to Kraft's website. They tell you don't submit any ideas without having them patent first and if they (possibly) use your idea they will pay you 5Grand, however, they will own it. They said they have scientist working hard to bring more great items to your food stores. I was like Yikes!
*sigh* I did the poor man's patent and that was it.

Funny thing is you probably come up with ideas on your own everyday. You just aren't conscience of it. How to make things work better, what you would do to improve something...how to change this and make that.
Back around 92/93 I was in the grocery store buying garbage bags, I thought to myself, dang, it would be nice if they had scented bags....Look on the shelves now. They are money makers with Fabreze, Gain, Arm and Hammer.
