Thinking about my future

I seldom spend time thinking about the future.
The more I think about it, the more upset I am.
If I live long, that means my money has to live as long. That means I have to work a very long time to meet my daily expenses.
If I do not live long, that is depressing enough. I do hate to fall sick, and take pills for the rest of my life or get stricken with terminal condition.
When I think about the future, I have to think about my working ability. It is depressing to think about working into my 70s or 80s.
I pity those who still have to work to make a living when their bodies are full of pain.
I guess I better think about dinner. This is a very happy thought.

The risk is always inflation, and longevity.
In the past. people hardly lived beyond 70, so to retire at 55 is good enough.
Now we cannot retire so young unless we are extremely good in investment, and we have income from rental or something else other than work.

I do not think the Chinese government can do that when you grow old.
The one-child policy really kills off that prospect.
By then, there will probably be more old people than young people, and the government will feel the strain of the aging population.

If you worth too much about the future, you may want to get a pension plan as early as now. It will cover your needs on a certain age.

I remember when I broke my foot and my youngest son just ran out the door and would not help me do something. That is when he learned something the hard way. He was telling his friend what he did and his friends mother told him off. She has a disease where soimetimes she is in pain all over. But yet she goes to work for forty hours and works in pain because the family needs the money. He came home and told me how sorry he was.

@scheng1 I know how you feel about the thoughts, it's like a series of thoughts after thoughts. It becomes like your daily jobs, tasks, work. These mind roots from the work you do. Actually, base d on the religion views, nobody knows what's in it for the future, and some forget the past. Only one God who knows these 3 periods of a lifetime. So just don't think too much. It will happen as it have to. And you can do it better outside the job, cuz that time your mind change, and you never think about the future since you will be busy, future will be the present and present will be past.

Yes, you are right.
Once we start the negative thinking, it is endless.
That is why I seldom think about it. I just know that things will turn out right.
I have enough insurance policies and savings to last through a few years of retirement, though not to support the same lifestyle that I want.

Younger people need to plan for their future as it's here before you know it
