I'm sitting here writing out the birthday cards for my two oldest grandsons. Wow time flies.
Sometimes I have a hard enough time accepting that my children are all adults and married but now all of their children are growing up at a rapid pace. Are you like me and wish you could slow down time just for a little bit?
My oldest grandson just turned 21 on Jan 10th and his brother (my second oldest grandson) will be 18 on the 24th of Jan. I shake my head at these milestones because it seems like only yesterday that they were babies.
Tomorrow we're having a family combo birthday party for these two wonderful young men and my heart bursts with pride when I see what great adults they are turning out to be.
The rest of my grandchildren are all leaving those baby years behind too but these two grandsons really hit hard seeing that they've reached adulthood so quickly (or it just feels that way).
All I can say is WOW where did the time go????

I never had kids, but that doesn't mean time still didn't fly by.

@Marilynda1225 I decided I am not getting one day older...I'm 'holding' at the age I am at this moment.

Yes, but it is just the cycle of life. It is great that yours are still near enough that you can watch them grow up. Many people move far away, so this is not an option for them. That's even worse.

@Marilynda1225 Yes, you are. My only child just could not stay put, even living in Paradise. She is sorry now, but feels stuck.

I know just how you feel. My oldest grandson reached 16 last month. It seems just yesterday he was a baby.

I'm sure you were thinking of him in diapers when he was blowing out the candles on his cake.

I know exactly how you feel. Our oldest grandchild is 26 and the youngest is 6. We've even been blessed with our first great- grand baby ! Impossible that time has gone so quickly.

how sweet of you to say that Dianne. I do love them beyond belief and I am lucky to have a wonderful family. It makes all the years of sacrifice as a single mom worth it
