Why today is an exciting day for me!

I got a call from one of my "repeat customers" in the world of vintage loudspeaker restoration earlier this week. He said he has two pairs of speakers that need some work. I'm going to drive down to his shop and pick them up this afternoon. That means I should have a couple of weeks worth of "projects" to work on. I think one is a pair of Advents and the other is a smaller pair by a good company called A/D/S. Do you have any on-going "projects" right now? I love having a project going on in the background. It's something I can turn to any time I'm bored. I'll attach an "after" picture of the Advents I recently sent home. I'm not sure if I've posted this one before.

Busy is good. I get restless if I don't have enough to do!

Sounds like fun! Is this your side hobby (restoration) I don't have any fun projects, just getting back to scrap booking!

Scrap booking sounds like fun! Yes, this is my side hobby, and another way to make a little extra cash while working in social services (which never pays that well).

Those speakers that you finished look good. I am sure you will do a good job on the ones that you just got.

Thanks! I'm looking forward. I enjoy the process as much as the product!

My project is to rebuild my small greenhouse on the back of the garden. It has been destroyed by the strong wind last night. I want to build something that can resist better to the wind.

@TheHorse No, I cannot do this in winter, I have to wait until the end of February, better mid March, when the days are longer and warmer.

@LadyDuck Got it. Are you planning in your head now? Are there things you can do before Spring to be ready for the rebuild?

When will you start? Is it something you can do during the Winter months?

I don't think you have. They look good. My ongoing project is working on my manuscripts, which I haven't touched since my computer crashed, but I'm going to need to as I don't know when I'm getting a new tower at this point.

Is it un-crashed at this point?

@just4him Are you going to get one? Do you have a friend who can help you transfer files from one to the other?

@just4him Without my computer-savvy friend, I'd be doomed.

I have a reel to reel that needs some work. I think it's a simple fix.

Is there someone in your town who does that kind of work? We have only a handful left here in the Bay Area. The best charges $79 just to take a peek, but deducts that from the final price to fix it.

The speakers look lovely. There must be a great deal of satisfaction in bringing these pieces back to such a fine condition.

There really is. I think I'll do a post now that shows a surface before I started working on it. I got a bunch of stuff to work on yesterday.

@TheHorse We haven't been that busy really but suddenly we seem to have quite a few commitments over the next week or two. It's nice to be busy though.
