Will there be tension now in relations between Taiwan and China?

I just noticed in the international news today that Tsai Ing-Wen was elected the new President of Taiwan. Tsai is the chairman and leader of the Democratic Progressive Party DPP in Taiwan which has had a history of wanting to publicly declare Taiwan's independence from China. Although Taiwan has de facto independence from China, China saves face by not allowing Taiwan to join the UN or other international organizations.

For as long as I can remember Taiwan has wanted its independence from China. It would be nice if China would grant it.

China will never recognize Taiwan as politically independent. If it did that, Tibet would be the next to demand independence from China.

At first I would like to say it is nice to see a Thai friend here. As to the tension between China and Taiwan, as a simple person like me, I can't feel any difference. Perhaps the tension creates by the politicians, but I don't feel it around people.

I wouldn't think there would be tension because there are many Chinese living on Taiwan, and many Taiwanese doing business on China. Both the Taiwanese and Chinese are really brothers. Are you Thai or Chinese?

Ok, it's 2021 now. And China will unite, I believe in this very year. The Taiwan way doesn't work on the Chinese people. US will "allow" China to unite in order to get China's support for the invasion of Iran in 2022. This is not a guess.
