How I gave up smoking

I don't smoke and we don't have a smoker in the family. When I was in my teens, I used to puff cigarettes once in a while. I was very secretive about smoking, however, one day my father discovered that I smoked. On that fateful day, when we were on the dinner table, he placed a cigarette on the plate and pushed towards me. I was ashamed. Since then I have never touched a cigarette.

The fact that you managed to give up smoking in your teens out of pure shame is absolutely remarkable; I guess most teenagers wouldn't have done the same. I started smoking as a teenager and finally gave up smoking at the age of 33; I wish I wouldn't have wasted so much money on that garbage, but still I',m glad I manged to get rid of that addiction.

It seems that you only have a taste of it that's why you are able to avoid it right away. Good for you.
