Are You Happy With Windows 10?

I must admit I downloaded Windows 10 almost straightaway when I found out it was free for all users, and part of me thought I was regret rushing into it. However I think the newest Windows operating system is pretty good so far and has not given me any issues yet. The only thing I would say is that it is not that much different to the previous version and hardly really offers anything new. I wonder what the point was for introducing Windows 10 when there was nothing major new innovations. At least it was free :D How are you finding the New Windows 10?

Why does everyone else I know say how different it is, how difficult it is to use? I haven't dowloaded it for those reasons. It must be different than Win 7.

I have not noticed much difference to be honest. I had windows 7.5 and so it has not changed much since that.

@gudheart OK, I just 'reserved' my free copy. Now another question, if I don't like it can I go back to win 7?

It's honestly not all that different than Windows 7. I found more differences than Windows 8.1 in it, to be honest... all good, because I didn't like using 8.1 in the least. The big difference is that the names of settings have changed. It might take a bit of poking around to get used to it, but overall it's very similar. There's the option of adding tiles to the Start Menu now, which I really like. I've set up different tiles of varying sizes for all of my frequently-used software. There's an option to go back to Windows 7 that's available for something like the first 30 days after you upgrade. What I would do if you're not sure you'll like it is make a set of recovery discs for Windows 7 if you don't have them already. That way, if you decide you don't want to keep 10, you can use those discs to reinstall your operating system. It won't be an issue because they use a unique-to-your-computer ID to verify that you're authorized to use the recovery discs. That's why you can use them to install the factory OS on a new hard drive if you need to. It'll recognize your computer as yours even with Windows 10 on it.

We bought a new computer on Sunday and yesterday my husband installed Windows 10 for it. I haven't used it yet. I will install other softwares to the new computer and use it tonight. I hope Windows 10 will not let me down

@dengcaijun Perhaps my computer is new and the hardware is also super. So it runs so fast and so far so good.

It's not that good, I used win10 for two weeks and did a small test, it took a longer time to star the computer and worked a little slower than win 8.1, sometimes the taskbar was in a state of suspended animation, in my option ,some guys don't think win8.1 is a good operating system, perhaps they are not using the suitable edition, they should try the enterprise edition :)

I find Windows 10 great. I've not been having issues on this so I am really glad I grabbed the opportunity to download it for free.

An app had to be uninstalled from my computer before Windows 10 could be installed. To my disappointment the app was protected therefore could not be uninstalled ( i mean not by me because i am not very knowledgeable about computers at all ). Windows 10 download had to be aborted. So up to the present 'm still using Windows 7.

@gudheart No i did not. It would probably cost me a lot of money if i hired a technician to uninstall a protected app. I would have to be contented with my Windows 7 from now on.

I think windows 10 is great, so much better than 8 ever was. I didn't like 8 from the start and wish I hadn't bought my laptop when I did. Windows 10 is lighter and much faster than 8 or 8.1

I love it, it is the closest thing to what I felt was the best, XP. Of course anyone going from Windows 7 to 10, won't be as excited as I was who went from Windows 8 to 10. I hated Windows 8 and glad it is gone, even though occasionally there are issues with the parental control, but Microsoft support is right there ready to help.

Yaya, someone else is talking about Windows 10. I am really considering getting it. I heard that it is more compressed, and that some people are running it on machings with 2gig of RAM and it works well. I have 4 gigs of ram, and I am told that it will be easier on my machine to run 10 than it is to run 7. If that is true, I need to switch right away. Truth is that I am still to scared to make the switch. I thought it would be a big change, an that I would have to relearn windows. Your saying I wont?

Hmmm...maybe it involve the whole pushing of a product on you for free! Na, there couldn't be any ulterior motives to give away well over 100 million free copies and make it hard to avoid getting! as best as they can! It likes to try to get you all connected up with MS online network at minimum. Nope nothing a few simple updates couldn't do. They are discontinuing allowing any original equipment manufacturers (OEMs - like Dell, HP, etcetera) to preinstall Windows 7 in a few months. Although they're probably pretty hard to find today anyway. Windows 10 IS windows 7 with new bells and whistles, so it's not as terrible to use as 8 or 8.1 but it sinks its teeth into you. And wait until the free period is over, I will put money on CHANGES being introduced. (My post will still be here if you don't believe me.) It functions pretty well, but takes some getting used to. That not an issue really at least.

Well, Windows 10 is basically the same in many areas with the previous versions. But, I can say that some new features are added, and it has become smoother compared with Windows 8 where its a bit buggy and laggy. I'm currently enjoying Windows 10 and all its new features, my pc has become cooler and the transitions smoother. Ha ha. Kudos~!

I prefer window 8.1(Enterprise Edition) to windows 10, and I tried win 10 for some time, it's not that good and have a few bugs with taskbar, I would not upgrade my system untill the problem is solved.
