What Is Your Random Poetic?

"Turquoise, rolls royce, Dim dive, so alive. The sounds and talk- People in the mechanic of their social effigy. Moments, minutes fading in memory. Tonight, just tonight, I'll be pretend to be, Someone else, here, where no one knows me." Do you ever find yourself randomly feeling poetic? This sometimes happens to me, especially if I read or hear something poetic or thought-provoking by someone else. A lot of times I'll just have to feeling to throw something together (like above), or randomly respond to what someone wrote. I find this happens to me a lot on Twitter. Has any one else experienced this? What is you random poetic? Feel free share. I'd like to read it. n_n

Yes but not generally in rhyme. I have been having major ear congestion lately. I stepped out to the car yesterday and realized Canada geese were flying low, heading to a seasonal water way. Their gossip caused me to stop and listen and appreciate.

Nice! It sounds like you found a poem in the sounds of a life moment. This sentiment can apply to a number of things, and I like how you discovered it in the world around you. I tend to use rhyme and alliteration quite a bit, but there's also times when I don't rhyme at all. I think it's different for everyone, although there's a common thread of experience at the heart of it.

@tarotmore I posted one of my poems not long ago. Once in a great while rhyme wiggles into my work. I don't seek it out.

Its a calming effect and helps the situation easier to be able to write.

I tend to be quite organized with my verse though random words can sound poetic too - cabbage waltz mondeo turner glows with envious will library visions of amber brain fire firework autonomy see - rubbish!

I like it. Have you ever heard of the example sentence from Linguistics, "Colorless green ideas sleep furiously"? It demonstrates the difference between syntactic meaning (structure) and semantic meaning (understanding). You can understand understand the grammar, but the sentence itself makes no darn sense. Your verse reminds me of that. It fits the idea of "random poetic" very nicely. Although, it's almost like there's a meaning hidden within those random words strung together. Our brains work to make sense of our environment, and look for patterns, so my guess is this is what is happening as I read your verse. this probably holds true when reading something random. Or there really IS some hidden meaning. In that case, Illuminati confirmed. ;)

I do get these urges to write poetry occasionally and I have penned it down a couple of times too. Sometimes it doesn't really rhyme, but it is fun to try.

Do you save what you write, or is it something to do to pass the time? I also have this desire to have a "poetic pen pal"- someone I can write some deep and/or engaging prose with just responding to what the other person wrote, but at the end day, no one really knows what the other is saying, haha.
