Spoiler alerts – 2013 A rather derivative feature length animation with extensive borrowings from Ferngully, The Last Rainforest, Honey I Shrank The Kids and Avatar, among other movies. A girl goes to live with her eccentric father (who looks far too young) at his house on the edge of a forest. She finds her dad convinced that there are tiny people in the woods, and trying to catch one, though he eventually captures his daughter after she is shrunk to the size of the micro-heroes defending the woods against a marauding usurper. This is never as funny or tense as it tries to be though the artwork is lovely and there are some fun characters, especially the caterpillar, slugs and snails. The ecology message is squandered in favour of ‘families united’ are best moral values. Some neat performances from Colin Farrell, Chris Dowd and singer-actress Beyonce Knowles, who provides a quite forgettable theme tune. Arthur Chappell

I thought this movie was cute. My kids don't mind watching it although they are more fans of some other movies that come close to this one. But I think it was well done and easy to fallow.
