A few days ago we had a friend stay with us for two nights. She had a young friend of a friend with her. The younger person is from Nottingham and on a visit to Australia. We took her to Gnomesville. Many of my friends here will be a little familiar with Gnomesville as I write about it occasionally. This visit was a bit bittersweet as we took my mother's gnomes and left them there about the thousands of others. I've added a photo of my mother's gnomes. She passed away in 2014 aged 104. I washed them all before we took them out. When it rains some of the gnomes get splashed with dirt but as these are on grass I'm hoping they'll stay clean for a little while.

@arthurchappell There is amazing variety in the gnomes. While some are the same, many seem quite unique.

I like these, I remember a time, when people thought they were good luck.

Some really do enjoy collecting such things. We notice some neighbors have a few.

Gnomes don't do a lot for me but we don't have too many tourist attractions around here so it's somewhere to take people.

You would be 'gnomed out' at this place. There are thousands.

I must check if I've done a slideshow of them as it would be worthwhile to do so if I haven't.

I'm sure your mother is smiling down on them. I think it's a perfect place for them.

Are the Gnomes on your property or do you have to travel to see them. We love Gnomes. Have you heard the story about Gnomes going on vacation. We do this often when we find someone that has a Gnome in their garden. Love to you my friend, enjoyed the picture. Beautiful.

There are little notices and messages from all over the world.

Yes but also groups come from all over the state - scout groups, a Shirley club, motor-cycle groups, school excursions, old folks' homes. There are also quite a few with names from overseas. I took a photo of one which has Gaelic writing but I don't know what it says.
