I don't know anybody that's ever used one. Okay, accept for my mom, but that's another post for another day, LOL. Anyway, when I hear these figures from reliable sources, it makes me wonder. Is it possible they are actually legit? One site boasts about their marriage results and another about second date statistics. Are one or more of my friends, acquaintances and associates participating and not telling me? Hmmmm

I am sure there is some success in finding a significant other online, but I personally wouldn't know.

Not including myself, I've met at least 3 other couples that met online, and are still happily married-two are raising children. I think it depends on one's approach, and what website you use.

After a number of failed relationships, or would-be relationships, I reassessed my approach. Obviously, whatever I was doing to find a good guy was NOT working-the ones that I had deemed suitable were either taken, or turned out to be a bad idea (for me, anyway). I joined an online dating site that a friend had used successfully, and made a profile. I did So I sat down, and approached my search for a good mate using The Millionaire Matchmaker, Patty Stanger's, criteria. She instructed her clients to make a list of their 'must-have'-qualities that were important to them, and then make a list of 'deal-breakers'. Then I rewrote my profile, and got extremely picky about some things. I went on several dates, but wasn't impressed (and one decided that it was okay to shove his tongue down my throat!). But then a number of "suggestions" of men I might be interested in popped up-and I looked, thinking we'll see. One of them was a guy that was a bit further away from where I normally met men, but I agreed to talk to him anyway. We kept talking for several weeks-like every night for hours! I went to South Carolina for Thanksgiving at my sister's, and ended up rushing back to meet Jim face-to-face. And I never really went back 'home'-we just connected immediately, and married just over 3 years later, in fact, we celebrated our 2nd anniversary last month!

@sherryericha Thank you very much Sherrye-we're doing our best!
I see you're from Philly-I grew up in Moorestown, just over the river. I did not have much luck with men in that area LOL.

I was wondering about the cost, too , but if the match is successful, who cares, right?
That's a good idea, starting your own. Especially considering the $$$.

A friend of mine was upset because she didn't think her of her adult children would ever get married. They both were in their 30's. They went on e-Harmony.com, both of them met people, they got married, and now my friend has three grandchildren!

That's amazing, blessings for the whole family. The guy in the e-Harmony commercial does look sincere, doesn't he?
