Response to comments on my own thread doesn't earn you money?

I am back after many years and understand many things have changed. Just wanted to know if I start a discussion and people respond to it and inturn I respond to their comments. Isnt this counted for earning? Or we have to only respond to others discussions? Editing it:- trying to figure out how is it calculated . Please answer any if you know 1. If I start a discussion and no one responds. Do I earn money? 2. I respond to comments on my thread. Do I earn? 3. Somebody responds to my discussion. Do I earn. 4. Do the earnings depend on how long or short your discussion is. I mean number words in a discussion. Thank you all in advance for your patience.

What YOU post, whether it is a discussion, a response or a comment, is eligible for earnings but only when someone interacts with it in some way. It is how much other people interact with your posts which decides how much each will earn. The number of words in your discussion (or response or comment) has NO effect on your earnings except that, of course, the more interesting, relevant, useful and descriptive you are, the more people are likely to interact with you. The more that you interact with others, the more likely it is that they will interact with you, so commenting in your own discussions will definitely benefit you either directly or indirectly. It really is not worth trying to guess exactly how many fractions of a cent each interaction is 'worth' or whether something 'earns' for you or not because that also varies from day to day, depending on how much of the revenue is allocated to earnings and how it is distributed to other users.

It really is best not to worry too much about exactly how it's all worked out but concentrate on interacting sincerely with everyone whose posts you find interesting.

@arpita_onlinejob On the old mylot, there's a 'motto' that people go by - I type I earn, you type you earn. That is certainly not the case any more on this new layout.

Our respected friend @owlwings has very well explained the position to you and I hope your doubts would have been cleared by now. I would just like to add that you need not worry about earnings, the more you interact here with fellow mylotters, more earnings will come your way.

Just do your best in making your posts, c omment on all the responses you get, and interact a lot and you will earn, Since the algorithm is complicated and secret just do your best and interact a l t and uo will have fn while you earn,

We earn from interactions of others to our posts (discussions/responses/comments). You earned from my response here. And if you interact with my response, I will earn from your comment.

1. A discussion without response means nothing money for you. 2. I don't know about this, maybe no. 3. Yes, you earn. 4. The earning does not depend on long or short of response, but on the proper of the response against the discussion. If I give a mistake information, I am sorry...

I think that JJ explained it pretty well. You get paid from others commenting to you, whether it is yoru discussion or someone elses. We don't get paid for what we do anymore, and that is where the interaction comes in. If you interact with others, they will interact with you. I like the interaction, even though it did take time to get used to it, as I was here at the old mylot. You don't ge paid for posting a discussion, unless you get responses to it. Once you get responses, then you comment back to them, and that is the interaction, as you are commenting back and forth. It will take you time to get used to it, but you will.

I am getting used to it. The day I didnt post anything I still earned and its because of people responding to my posts. Understanding now.

@arpita_onlinejob I don't come in here on Saturday, and I still earn, even though it isn't all that much, it is better than nothing, and it all adds up overtime.

have you go to your page and check out your earnings. There is a small break down. In general when your write something on here it counts towards your earnings. Weather its writing a post. Of course you will make more if someone responded to your post and you talk back to them. It's nice in general for someone to know you read what they wrote.

the truth is that nobody knows because they haven't told anyone exactly how they calculate it and no matter what we do we won't know we can only guess.

25 Jan 16
They have not told as its their business secrets but a few guidelines on how much you are earning for an activity should be shown.
