Personally I only "like" stuff if I do genuinely like it.
Most times I'll respond or comment but occasionally I've nothing to contribute but still appreciate the discussion.
Same with the responding to people.
I know some people keep an eye who responds to them and make effort to go to those peoples discussions.
I don't do that and don't expect it from anyone else...I only respond to stuff I'm interested in and don't care if those people never respond to my discussions.

@Mike197602,I,too,have been doing the same. There are some users whose posts I read regularly and like and comment on them. They, however, never read or like my posts leave alone comment on them.I don't bother. What you do is right and I,too, will do the same.

@Mike197602 I absolutely agree. I may occasionally look at the things someone else has commented on and also their discussions it doesn't mean I will like them or make a comment.

It is your personal preference my friend.
That is what it boils down to.

I would not comment on someone else's discussion simply because they have liked your discussion, you have to have some interest in the subject matter at hand. There are many types of discussion I will never comment no matter who wrote them. I think it is best to be a little choosy.

Don't press like unless you really do like it.

@amnabas,Of course,it's my choice.I may like any discussion I come across, but the question I have raised here had been pinching me for a week.Today I decided to ask it in the form of a discussion. @owlwings,@Mike197602 and you helped me find the answer. Thanks a lot.

It is entirely your choice, which posts you want to like. If you want to reciprocate to a user, there is nothing wrong in it.

i wander about all over myLot and not only on the discussions posted by those Lotters who I am following. If I see something intereting I 'like' it and usually respond or leave a comment on a response too.
Many times I see something that I might not agree with, Indeed it might be something quite controvercial and I admire the person for having the guts to post their opinion, often in a minority. I will also 'like' that type of post too.
I do not leave a 'like' or a response or a comment just because someone did the same for me if I can't relate to what they have posted.

I try harder to find something to comment on for those I follow, I do 95% of the time if not more. If it's not someone I follow, I give up easier, if I am having issues thinking of something.
