Do You Like the "You Might Also Like" Section?

On the right side-bar of our posts on myLot is a section called "You Might Also Like". It is a list of ten posts on topics related to the one you just read.
Usually, I find something of interest in this section, but it always disappoints me to find that the post is at least a few years old. Most often the writer of the post is long gone, so if you respond, there is no chance of getting even an acknowledgement that your response was seen.
While I think it's a good idea to have a section like that, I wish the posts were more recent. Then we could get a discussion going again.
What do you think? Do you like the "You Might Also Like" section?

I do like that section. I have found that some were much older discussions but not all of them. Some discussions were brought to life again which is really cool!

I recently just noticed this feature also! I agree, it'd be nice if they were updated posts. However, I don't see the "you might also like" in every discussion post though.

@Dalane Makes sense the ones without tags wont have you might also like.

I do not check posts on the right side precisely for the reasons which you have mentioned in your discussion. Most of the posts are old posts and there is a little likelihood that host will read our posts and comment back.

@Dalane - Yes, I agree with you. I hope mylot will find out the way to mention the links of new posts.

Yeah, I like it but when I find out its from years ago, I just have to go back to the recent discussions again.

I asked admin about that when I first joined, as they all seemed to be years old. They said that in the natural progression of things they would be replaced by newer posts, but I can't see that it is happening too much. If people don't tag their posts I don't think they get there.

I do check them out from time to time and find the same thing. Like Jabo said, if people don't tag their posts they won't show up there, and generally they'd need the same tag.

I agree, every time I have looked at it, the post is very old.

I was wondering what all that was about.

I use it. I have even responded to old , long gone users to have the return as active Mylotters.

I have the same issue you do. Whenever I look at a post in that section, it's invariably from years ago when myLot was a very different site. For the most part, I don't look at it now.

as yet I've not gone there but maybe I should pay more attention to it.

@Dalane it'll bring up discussions with the same tags.
