Last week, I ordered a truck toy for my nephew on Target.com and I had the order ship to store to get free shipping! Yesterday, I received an email saying my order is ready for pick up!
Prior to going to Target, I opened Target's Cartwheel App to see if there are any great deals. If you aren't familiar with Target's Cartwheel App - essentially it's a free app that you use at Target to save 5%, up to 50% off select items. Hundreds of offers are added regularly. All you do is browse the app, add offers that you would like to take advantage of then you show your barcode in stores to redeem the discount!
Here are some examples of some current offers:
- 50% off Colgate Sensitive Brush + Pen
- 50% off LEGO Dimensions Fun Packs
- 50% off Beloit Breakfast Biscuits
- 30% off Special K Apple Cinnamon Cereal
- 25% off Hefty Storage Freezer Slider Bags
- 25% off V-Fusion Juice
- 20% off Dove Hair Products
- 15% off Coca-Cola Brand Soda
- 5% off Up & Up Products
- Plus, so much more!
And what's great is you can also use manufacture coupons for additional savings!
From November 2013, to now - I have saved $324.69! I don't coupon much, but I really love the Target App, sometimes you could score great deals or savings here and there without actually clipping coupons!
Anyway, I went to Target and bought some Evian Water (saved 30% off with the app), Cranberry Juice and candy plus picked up the toy!
I just wanted to share with you all one way I save some money while shopping!

I do not shop at target for the same reason I don't shop at kmart. I suppose one day I'll shop with them again but after debit card information was compromised? I decided it was better not to risk it, even in stores. I am glad you were able to save so much money using it though!

Oh yes, the whole breach thing. Luckily, I wasn't affected, but I also don't own a Target Red Card. Home Depot also had a breach and among some other companies that I can't think of right now.
I generally pay cash at those stores now or use credit card (never debit). They know have the chip readers so hopefully thats more safe.
I never shopped at Kmart before. They have a reward program I heard is good (Shop My Way) or something along with Sears, but I never understood how it works.
But, ultimately it's awesome saving some money.

Awesome how much money you were able to save!!! I love hearing that and then you can use that money on other things you want. All the Targets in Canada were shut down last year.

Bummer that Target closed down. What's left do you have? Like a Walmart maybe?

@infatuatedbby Yes, in our area basically just Walmart, and smaller indepdendent stores. I usually go to the thrift store first then Walmart.

I use cartwheel too but not as much as I should. You reminded me to check what is on sale.

I used to forget, but now before going to Target ~ I always check! Sometimes the items I'm buying are on there.

No problem! It's an awesome app. I've used it since 2013. And I love how I don't physically have to clip for coupons, hehe.
