How do you market your online writing?

Many people want to be writers and a great number really write and publish great articles. The problem is getting readers. It was the same when I was trying to sell a listed house. If you don't have people looking at it, the house won't sell. I have a Google AdSense account through Hubpages, but my earnings aren't great. Facebook and Twitter haven't really helped me that much in getting viewers. Should I be sharing my articles on other social media like Reddit, Tumbler, and Pinterest?

I think you need to hire a person who can do SEO for your blogs. I've been writing as well for quite sometime but justbmarketing it on your own will not really make you that much.

I get some views from Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest, and every once in a while a hub will just take off on one or more of those platforms. But it's usually not because of anything I did, except to discretely post links to the article. It comes when others share my work on social media, and I've not found any formula for making that happen.

share your writing anywhere you can - also try to get to read your writings at writing groups and approach mainstream publishers too - good luck - the selling is harder than the writing for most writers

I would suggest to try and get a mailing list. Add a little subscribe button on your page and get loyal followers who truly like your content. I know this is hard but over years as you keep improving the quality of your website, you would get more followers.
