I was inspired by Barack Obama and it showed me two things when he won. the first thing is Racism is alive and well with America being more racist after his victory with the thinking that everything was set to "even" since he won now people can say and do anything offensive they want. The second and more important thing is that if you are black and in America you can succeed despite racism if you just fight hard to overcome it. Now i already knew this, heck there are examples of black lawyers, doctors, neurosurgeons even business owners around everywhere. These examples are not shown to kids enough, all we see are athletes and entertainers making big money and that is what every kid aspires to. When Obama got elected he became the example, the standard to aim for just like the Cosby show he was what the best of blacks can be if guided in the right direction and with hope and education and hard work. So i wont ever think of racism as a mighty barrier anymore, if slaves could thrive after the civil war but be beaten down by jim crow and segregation for decades then we can succeed everyone of us black, white, poor, female, asian mexican, gay. the only thing we need to fight against is those forces trying to divide us and keep us down like the super rich that play games pitting us against each other

America got more racist because of Obama. Racism was on its way out, and he and the media have been stirring it up ever since. Talk to anyone growing up in the 80s and 90s and they would tell you they thought it was a thing of the past. Then Obama and his messed up agenda arrives and it explodes! He has been fanning the flames all along the way, and certainly using people like Al Sharpton to mix it up was part of the problem. He is a man that uses excuses and cop outs to avoid being blamed for something. And when people disagreed with him, he was more than happy to cite racism as a reason, rather than just being incompetent. And if you think I'm racist, get over it. My favorite teacher in high school was very wise about the world and the color of his skin was never a factor in my admiration of his wisdom and experience.
