Coincidence or not

I have always thought I would enjoy working with people through drama and story telling. This could work in a variety of areas and audiences from children to adults. Today when I was on the train with my friend heading for the city a young man alighted the train dressed in an amazing pirate costume. He sat next to us and we simply had to know who he was and why he was dressed up as a pirate. He told us he was off to the city to work with children using the idea of 'choose your own adventures' books. He would be working through role plays and interactive story telling. I thought I had died and gone to story telling heaven. Well I didn't really think that, but I was enchanted by his story. I felt motivated again in this area and hopefully will pursue the art of drama and story telling if only in a small way.] Thanks to that young man he was an inspiration. I don't think it was a coincidence that we met him and were able to hold him captive on the train.

How cool is that? Did you know that Balingup has a book week or literary festival or whatever and they have adults telling stories to children throughout the day? I'm sure they'd have room for one more! Story-tellers that is, not children! :)

@JduEv Thanks Judy, I have looked up the Festival at Balingup and think it would be good to at least visit and see what the story tellers do. All week I have been hearing about story telling, it is very strange and I hope it is going to lead somewhere.

Great idea. You can try to tell a thrilling story once, and sometimes you may become a good story-teller later. Congratulations!

@Shiva49 That is so true. For many years I had the perfect job I loved it so much it did not feel like work at all. Now I want to follow my creative side.

@glenniah Best of luck. I was in the finance and accounts area for donkey's years! It is said accountant is the first to hired and the last to be fired - so it gave me a living. But my passion to read and write stayed in the background. I couldn't wait to chuck what I did at the first opportunity to breathe some fresh air! Talk of small mercies of life! siva
