Vallentine's Day Blahs

I think I'll shop early for a gift this year. The reason? My dear little brother is born on Valentines Day! It's always a hassle trying to find a birthday gift close to this particular day. Picture this: gift shops packed with pink and red baloons, hearts all over the place, sentimental cards in every rack, people of different ages busy selecting just the perfect card/gift for their loved one...and me- scrabbling through all the racks trying to find a card thats so not popular at the moment. Awkward? Not until the shop attendant sees my desperation and politely enquires if there's a specific type of card I'm looking for. The conversation: Attendant-"Excuse me, miss? Can I help you?" Me- " Yeah! I'm looking for a card?" Attendant-"Exactly what kind do you need? Sentimental? Very sweet and Romantic?" Me-"A Birthday card, actually" Attendant-"!!!??HUH!"

that's funny but very true. The stores have nothing in mind during Valentine's day but everything about love and romance.

Exactly. "Happy Birthday" takes the backseat to "my Valentine"

Yeah it's wise to always shop ahead of the date of an event or holiday cause shops would already be out of stock and the people manning the shops are already in a hurry cause they also have their personal obligations or people in their family to give to at home
