I think I know why some people block others on my Lot

I was just read a discussion that was pretty much on the 'bla' side. It wasn't very interesting, but it did ask I a question. I had an answer so I thought I'd share my thoughts. Well, that person has blocked me.
I did a little detective work and read some more discussions that person started. They were all on the 'bla' side. Maybe that person knew I'd be bored so he/she blocked me to save me the energy of commenting. If that's the case, then thank you for being so considerate.

Maybe, but blocking is stupid.
People should learn to simply ignore things they don't like.
If something is THAT bad it probably falls within the category of posts that should be reported.

Maybe they feel that blocking is a way of ignoring things they don't like.
Honestly, if it worked that way, I probably would have used it a few more times than I have. I was getting way too aggravated over a user who was flooding the Most Recent page with discussion after discussion after discussion that just didn't interest me. It made it hard to find anything I wanted to reply to when that person was active, because it was a habitual thing.

@yukimori I noticed someone like that the other day and it was a bit annoying because it was the first time I'd had loading problems on this site...so moving between categories was annoyingly slow.
If blocking meant that certain members couldn't be seen on the recent list I'd think about using it but sometimes they come up with a nice discussion point and I'd not want to miss it.

@yukimori I have seen page after page of discussions that don't interest me (some from people who normally post good things) I just put it down to either the mood I am in or the mood they are in. Tomorrow, being another day, things are different and the discussions are once again interesting. I put it down to the natural ebb and flow of things.

@sherryericha Good luck - I just saw photos on the news - I'm a former jersey girl and getting a kick out of it since we only got 1/4 inch in TN.

@AbbyGreenhill. TOO MUCH. Have to check the news for exact inches, but the drifts are taller than our 5 year old grandson.

If someone has blocked me I don't know about it nor would I really care unless it was someone that I interact with very often like you and a few other that I try to follow every post. I don't get to all of your because you have so many.

The person is someone I've never interacted with at all so I don't really care about being blocked.

I think blocking is pointless. Speaking of, I was randomly blocked by someone I thought cared for me on Facebook today. Apparently blocking is the new easy thing to do lately!

The person who blocked you on FB, are they on this site also? Maybe if they block in one place they feel they have to block on all sites.

great theory - if I plan to write something offensive I'll block everyone who might object to it before posting lol

@AbbyGreenhill such work ought to be written on paper and then torn up or shredded so no one ever sees it

I don't think this person followed me to begin with. Why block when you can just ignore and move on. She blocked me I didn't block her.

I have a question for you. I used to use all the great pictures on Pixabay when I was on Bubblews, but I don't know how to access them for MyLot. Can you tell me how to do that?

@IreneVincent @yukimori I wouldn't worry about it too much. in the nearly 6 years I have been here, I have never received a complaint about an image being stolen or used illegally. And if they are free to use, I doubt anyone will complain.

You can download them to your hard drive from Pixabay.com, then upload them here.
I'm honestly not sure where that falls under myLot's current guidelines. They usually want us to post original content, but Pixabay's images are all free for use. I'd personally make sure that I credited the image properly if I posted one. Maybe @GoAskAlice can let us know what he thinks about the matter, since there isn't a copyright to worry about with photos from that site.

@JolietJake That's what I was thinking, but we're also encouraged to post only original content, so I wanted to verify that it was okay with Alex before I led someone astray.

I almost laughed when I read this thinking of the guy that blocked me and many many more just because...he ended up leaving, I think, there is no way of knowing, because he ticked off so many he had no comments which means no money... Blockers are hurting themselves, not us.
