New year, new me?

It is still January, so the old adage of "new year, new me" is still relevant. Or at least that's my view. Of course I don't really believe in such a statement. Longterm readers of my online writing may recall that I prefer an assessment of my, and indeed our, situation at the beginning of every month. I'm a little late this month. My excuse? Finally we took a family trip to Paris. It was fun, draining, slow-moving, invigorating and tiring. Anyway, I intend to be around here more often over the next few months. This is possible because the barnacle baby has been placed into daycare for a couple of days each week. My home hasn't looked so clean and tidy for a long while! Until next time BellaDoc.

It must be lovely to get a little bit of your life back. Glad you got to Paris. Guess maybe the trip was a bit different to previous ones. :)

@BellaDoc There can't be much you haven't seen! Although that's a stupid thing to say really. There is always something new.

No matter how hard I try, I can't stick to the "priorities" I make for the new year. I am getting on the treadmill every weekday but so far that's it. Although it was nice to have some giggles with hubby last night. With the girls gone we sit silently at the dinner table and eat.

I think most people have given up with the whole new year, new me thing by now lol. I was determined to lose weight and I'm still working towards that goal and getting there slowly.

It's nice to get into a routine that allows for a cleaner home. I don't have a barnacle baby so I am blaming myLot. How wonderful that you got to Paris.

Thanks @paigea The routine is making a difference and I do feel that our home life is calmer. But there is still much to be done :)

@BellaDoc No worries. We're opposite here, going "home" would be back to California for me and last I visited there was end of 2011...

Hi! Apologies for the late reply. Yes, presumably I'll have to go "home" at some stage in 2017. (Geelong) This year - 2016 - we have decided to have an international vacation-free year :)

Hi @Fleura I'm trying to be here more, but always seem to be busy with the family. We will go back to France for another trip, and maybe combine it with Spain or Germany as my daughter is learning those languages (she's a fluent English and French speaker/reader).

Paris was interesting. I'd forgotten how many smokers there are there. I love the architecture, and loved being with our five year old daughter as she spoke French with he natives.
