Should MyLot's BLOCK Feature Be More Similar to Facebook's?

It seems like more and more people are abusing the block feature now days here on myLot. It's ridiculous to me how some members go around blocking others for no good reason. All they are doing is preventing interaction, which is what we earn for here! I personally am not a huge fan of the way the myLot 'block' feature currently works. We can still see discussions from members who have blocked us, but we cannot interact with any of their writing. I find it a bit annoying to read an interesting discussion only to find out when I go to respond that I cannot because I'm blocked! If I can't interact with it, I don't want to see it, period! I do think it would be beneficial for myLot to improve the block feature. But, how should it work? How would it differ? Should it be similar to the way blocking works on Facebook?

Offline we have no block button. We just avoid those people with whom we prefer to have nothing to do. That is how it should be here and any other social site oline in my humble opinion.

I think the blocking feature here is being abused for sure. Interaction is key here and if people are blocking others then that cannot happen, kind of silly to me.

I agree with that! What is the point of a block button on a social site anyway?

It is the only thing that irks me here and needs removing in my opinion.

I am not using it, and I am against this block feature, but I think that if it is maintained, it should work the same way on both sides : it is not normal that someone blocking you is still able to give a response that you cannot see or delete without deleting your discussion. I see this as a major bug. By the way, one of your responders is blocking me.

I had one of those the other day mostly it's about something you said or something they didn't want to hear so I get it.

Hello Angel. To tell the truth, the block feature is not something I am bothered by. I always have plenty to respond to here. I always say if someone doesnt want to discuss with me, fine, there are many who will.
