I'm Back

Good morning everyone! I have really missed being on myLot over the last week or so. Things have settled down and I am feeling much better. We had a case of the flu going around. My brother got it first and then it was passed on to me. I had the flu shot so I didn't get it as bad as my brother did. But we are finally better now and almost back to our old selves. We did get a tiny bit of snow on Friday morning but not even enough to measure really. We mainly got freezing rain and sleet which turned to ice. We were fortunate that we didn't get as much as expected and our power didn't go out. When I left, I had over 200 notifications and now I only have 17. What's up with that? Do they drop off after a period of time? I wonder what would cause them to drop like that? So, what have you been up to while I was away? Anything exciting?

I am glad your feeling better! This week coming I might not be around too much because I have many doctor appointments, I will be moving into our home and I might be having a baby!

How exciting to be moving into a house AND have a baby. That is a lot to take on at one time. Do you know if you are having a boy or a girl?

Notifications do drop off. I just go from person to person usually instead of notifications. I am glad you are back I had noticed you were missing and wondered if you were busy moving.

@simone10 I am so sorry, it seems that this year even all those who had the flu shot got the flu.

My brother got it first and then passed it along to me. He was a lot sicker than I was. The worst part for me was that the flu caused my RA to flare so I had to deal with that and get it under control.

@LadyDuck I knew it was possible as it doesn't protect against every strain but I did have a lighter case of it than my brother did and he didn't get the shot.

@simone10 Glad to hear you are well again. After about 10 days the notifications are deleted automatically from what I understand. Our temps are supposed to get up into the low pluses next week here in Latvia but still plenty of snow on the ground.

@RasmaSandra That is the bad part. Snow can be so pretty but when it starts to melt, it gets ugly very quickly.

Did you have a lot of snow? We didn't get much at all, maybe and eighth of an inch if that.

The notifications do drop off after a period of time, which is helpful in a way. You wouldn't want to come back after a month or so and find thousands of them. Welcome back.

It is kind of helpful but I feel bad that some comments won't have replies. I guess I could always go back into my discussions when I have the time and reply if needed.

Well glad to hear that your feeling better. I been sick since Thursday with bronchitis and been out of work because of it. Feeling a bit better today though. We didn't get snow or any of that blizzard it missed us. Temps our warmer here now though which i'm not complaining at all better then the single digit temps we been getting.

I'm so sorry to hear that you have/had bronchitis. I've had it several times and it can really make you feel so bad. The coughing is almost nonstop.

Welcome back, its great to hear that you only had a mild case of the flu due to having your shot. I hope that you recover completely and join us again on the site. Nothing earth-shatteringly exciting in my world, same old same old.

No, it wasn't fun as it caused my RA and fibromyalgia to flare but I got through it okay. My poor brother had it the worst but he is feeling much better now.

@simone10 So even if you have the flu shot you will still be susceptible to it ?

@SIMPLYD Yes, there is that possibility. Also, the flu shot doesn't protect against all strains of the flu.
