Those Branded Bags

I keep seeing the advertisements for branded bags here , so I clicked on them and I was amazed at how expensive they really are . Well, I know that branded bags are really so expensive ,as I know a cousin who has them . Actually , if I am really very rich , I too would buy one . Though , I don’t know if I will not feel guilty buying a very expensive bag. The most expensive bag I bought was only for 2,000 pesos ($44.44) . And until now I still use it alternately with my other bags . So , compared to those very expensive bag , my bags though not that expensive, are also sturdy and lasts for years . This bag on the picture is one of them . What about your bags ? Are they branded and expensive ? Happy Monday everyone !

I rather put food on my plate than purchase branded bags. Non-branded ones look and feel just as good. It's best to be down to earth.

I share your principle too . Besides , at least when they are not that expensive , when it gets out of style , you can easily buy a new on that is in style .

The most expensive bag I bought was on sale for a very good price. Otherwise I wouldn't have gotten it. I just cannot justify that kind of spending, not even for a bag. Though I do need a new one.

@just4him Wow , that is great - the company that employed you gave you a bag for a reward ! Since it's too small for you , perhaps you can just give it to your grandkids .

@SIMPLYD The bag I have right now was free. It was my reward for being at my job another year and we had several items to choose from. That was the only thing that seemed practical to me. The only problem with it is that it's too small.

I will not buy very expensive bags at all. But I do have expensive bags that I receive as gifts. My former Boss have gifted me with few branded bags, some were purchased during her travels abroad. So I have Channel Bags and LV and also Lacoste, then my youngest sister also gave me an original Louis Vuitton and lately her son (my nephew), gifted me with Nine West Bag. Honestly I am not really fond of bags, I am more fond of clothes and shoes.

@SIMPLYD Yes it is a blessing because me I will not really buy them with my own money. It is like wasting money when I have no excessive money at all.

@salonga I think even if i have excessive money , i will feel guilty because some people can't even have food on their table . I guess , i will just content myself with gifts or those not expensive yet stylish and beautiful ones .

It is so nice to have branded bags , but when they are given as gifts . I too , have one i remember . It's a guess small bag and i only use it on parties . Wow, you have gathered a number of branded bags as gifts . You are lucky to be surrounded by people who are moneyed and can afford those branded bags as gifts . Just like you i am more into clothes and shoes too.

I only buy expensive purses if they are on clearances. I got a hundred dollar purse years ago for only $10 and it lasted me for ten years.

I usually do not buy branded handbags. I have some leather handbags that I paid from 70 to 90 dollars. The most expensive I have is a gift from a client of my husband. He made him a favour and did not want to be paid and I received this very expensive ($ 2,000) hand made leather bag by "Bottega Veneta"

That is expensive. That's equivalent to about 90,000 pesos here. And here, that is a lot of money.

Branded items are always expensive because brand name is sold rather than the actual stuff. Branded items are generally good as far as their quality is concerned, however, they are too expensive to buy. It would be better to buy bags etc. which suit our pocket, rather than buying those branded bags/items, which are beyond us.

Precisely , they are of quality because they are branded . However , if you can have beautiful yet bags of good quality , what do you need a very expensive bag for ? With the less expensive bags you can buy 3 or 4 of them yet they are not yet in the least the price of that one branded bag . In that case i would like the former so i can use a different bag each day of the week .

I own a few branded bags. What can I say, I am a bag person. If someone, say, would like to put money on something that they really like, like cars and accessories, or video games, well mine are bags. I have LV, MK and Coach purses. But I also have the cheaper, no brand ones. I make sure that before I indulge in my "vices", however, I make sure that all the bills are paid, and I will be able to pay for it in full without going in debt or borrowing for money. When I was still living there, I am pretty much the same although it takes me much longer to save for it. No regrets though.

Oh so are you a Filipina too? Well, if we are here in the Philippines and the cost will be converted to peso , it will be exorbitant . But since you are abroad and earning the money for it is easy , it's okay to indulge on those branded bags , as long as the bills are all paid also .

@SIMPLYD Yes, I am. But you have to take to mind that there are also lots of expenses here. Insurance, utilities, gas, groceries, money to send my siblings to college there, etc. But like I said, so long as I have savings and I am not in debt, I have no regrets.

I don't usually care what bag I buy so long as it is comfortable and has pockets for water, gadgets, pens, etc. Bags that are well made and can last for a long time even though not branded is sufficient for me. Whenever I go to work or someplace else, I always carry my backpack. It's a handy tool for people who want to carry things around. Ha ha. Kudos~!

my bags are the big, sturdy, and heavy-duty bags. So many items inside. the bags given by my brother are only 'for special occasions'. the green bag I am using for work now is the POLO bag, and it is pure leather.

It is a bag that has a brand like for example Gucci, Hermes or Coach. Those are famous brands of bags and they are expensive. I don't buy those. I only buy those local brands we have here that are beautiful, durable and most of all affordable.

Sorry for the late reply . I didn't see this during those times i have just posted it . Anyway , that's why i don't like branded bags because they are long lived . I easily get tired of using the same bag over and over again . With my practical bags , i usually give out some still nice bags because i don't want them to occupy too much of the closet where i put them .
